Re: Discussion on the Time of Day for all Meetings & Date for the EAC Meeting
in November 2020
Comments: The EAC needs another discussion on day and time for our meetings. Please
consider the following:
1) Lisa Krimsky has indicated that her attendance history is a function of
out of town travel for her job. Changes in day or time will not change
her ability to attend.
2) The Village wishes for us to try to avoid overtime for workers. This is
why the EAC meeting on February 12 will end at 4:30. Kelly Bonneau
needs about 30 minutes to pack up and shut down whatever room we
meet in. However, the paramount issues are board member attendance
and turnout of the public.
The goal is to find a day and time that works for all three stakeholders, the EAC,
the Village staff and the public. That being the case, based on what I recall
hearing previously, afternoons are the preference of EAC members. If true,
does a meeting time of 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM work for you? That is the question.
If not, perhaps we need to consider meeting after 5:00 PM, which may increase
public attendance, but cause the Village to incur overtime. I think Wednesday
remains the day of choice, but if not please speak up. I am sure my colleagues
do not agree with me, but I am of the opinion that if we only meet once per
month, we need a three-hour meeting with 10-minute bathroom and coffee
break at approximately the 1.5-hour mark.
The November EAC meeting falls on Veteran's Day, a VOT holiday. We
should re -schedule this meeting for Tuesday, November 10. Thursday,
November 12 is likely Village Council meeting night. I recommend the EAC
meeting be moved Tuesday, November 10 so all can plan accordingly.
