• Call for entries for artwork (see attached- updated}- I can be contact for people,
they can email me for more info, for entry form (basically just name, contact info,
residency), they can email me the art work.
• Can we publish this call for entries on smoke signals (too late for June 1
deadline?), on the Friday news bulletin from Lori, on the VOT facebook page?
Where else?
• 1 will go around to businesses to ask for sponsorship and/or displaying these rack
cardstflyers for more info
• 1 will ask for local print company to sponsor printing of these rack cards/flyers
• SPONSORSHIP IDEAS:
o Businesses (with logos) must order at least 200 bags at slightly over cost
($3 each, $600 total, to be paid in advance) I have list of TBA/Hobe Sound
Chamber to begin, work from local outward.
o Families (name fisted) can donate $100 and receive 5 bags (to be paid in
advance)
• Businesses can do whatever they want with the bags (charge for them or give
them away), but may not charge more than $5 per bag, same price we will sell
them for.
• 10 business/logos on the bags ($6000), 10 families/names on the bags ($1000).
• The EAC will sell the bags at $5 each as a fundraiser
o FUNDRAISER IDEAS
■ Pre-launch event with the Hobe/Tequesta Chamber: take bag
preorders, options to sponsor.
■ After launch, sell bags at Food Tracks and other
EAC/chamber/local events (Tequesta Fest, Chili Cook Off, etc).
• Initial order will be 2,500 bags.

Order 2500 bags = $6845 cost

10 families/names, $100 each = $1000 total
Of the 2500 bags >
10 businesses get 200 bags each (2,000 bags)
10 families get 5 bags each (50 bags)
Of the 450 bags left, the EAC will sell as fundraiser for a potential future profit of$2250

In an effort to drastically reduce the number of plastic and paper bags in
our community and lower our collective carbon footprint, the VOT EAC is
creating limited edition, reusable shopping bags featuring a local artist's
artwork on one side and sponsors of the initiative on the other. These bags
will be sold and distributed throughout our community by local business
and the EAC.
Details:
• Artwork will be printed in a square format (8" x 8") on a reusable
cotton or canvas bag, in full color.
• Entries for the artwork should highlight the Tequesta environment in
some way.
• Entry is open to all Tequesta artists, all ages, working in any media.
• The entry deadline is June 1, 2020.
• Finalists will be published in each age category in Smoke Signals.
The winner will be chosen by the Village of Tequesta Council and the
EAC.
• The bags will be printed and released for distribution Fall 2020.
Businesses, charities, families, and schools wishing to sponsor the first
annual bags initiative or for an entry form for local artists, email Resa Listort
