Workshop STAFF MEMO Meeting: Workshop - May 04 2020 Staff Contact: Jeremy Allen, Village Manager Department: Manager Temporary Policy Change — Vacation Maximums � s coo III Currently, Personnel Policy 5.2 (Vacation Leave) and corresponding sections of the various Union Agreements permit full-time employees to accrue vacation leave up to 320 hours for those who work 40 or more hours per week. In recognition of the Village's response to the pandemic and the decision for many employees to cancel vacation plans, the Village Manager has given approval to lift these maximums temporarily. As of October 1, 2020 accruals over the current maximums will be permitted and payroll will reinstitute the caps in the payroll system effective September 30, 2021. Employees will then have until September 30, 2021, to use vacation time with supervisor approval using the standard leave request procedures to reduce their leave bank to below the maximums. Any hours not used by that date in excess of 320 hours will be forfeited. Employees should ensure that they are below the cap of 320 hours on October 1, 2021, in order to avoid forfeiture.
