WHEREAS, Mr. James Thompson was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on June 23, 1920; and
WHEREAS, Jim graduated from Ohio State University in 1951; and
WHEREAS, He served in the United States Navy and United State Marine Corps as a Medical Corpsman from
1941 - 1945; a n d
WHEREAS, Jim served in Guadalcanal in the British Solomon Islands and later at Paris Island in San Francisco; and
WHEREAS, Jim retired in 1992; and
WHEREAS, Jim is married to Evelyn Thompson and the proud father of two sons; and
WHEREAS, He is an avid fisherman, golfer and train enthusiast; and
WHEREAS, Jim joined the Turtle Creek Country Club in Tequesta, FL in 1979 and golfed well into his 90s.
NOW, THEREFORE, I Abby Brennan, Mayor of the Village of Tequesta, hereby proclaims June 23, 2020 as James
Thompson Day in the Village of Tequesta and we wish him a healthy and happy 100t" birthday.
