Chambers, Director Public Works Subject: Mowing and Landscaping Additional Services Date: October 20, 2020 561-768-0700 www.tequesta.org This Agenda item references adding Tequesta Park Landscape Maintenance to the Mowing and Landscaping Services Contract. The Village Council approved a multi -year competitively bid Mowing and Landscaping Services Contract on October 1, 2018 with Terracon Services Incorporated. The initial term of the Contract is five years with fixed rates and expires on September 30, 2023. After the initial five year term the Village of Tequesta has the option to renew the contract for an additional five years at the same rates. The contract allows for additional services based on the rates in Group C. alternate bid items. Currently, 2-3 Public Works employees spend 3 days every 10 days to maintain the landscaping at Tequesta Park. Transferring the landscaping services to Terracon Services Incorporated will allow the Department to balance its workload in maintaining Village buildings, roads, sidewalks, medians, equipment, and other responsibilities. Based on the contract rates in Group C line, item 25, the additional annual cost to maintain the turf, beds ,shrubs, irrigation and small trees is $34,989-00. Funding for these additional services were approved in the Budget for Fiscal Year 2021 and are available in Account 001-210-546.3091 Landscape and Irrigation Maintenance.
