The concept of a "Tequesta Memori- al," which was originated by deceased former mayor of Tequesta, (Ret.) Col. Ed- ward Resnik, now interred at Arlington National Cemetery with national honors, has blossomed in committee meetings of former Tequesta mayors -Col. Resnik (who was the chairman prior to his death), Elizabeth Schauer, .Carlton Stod- dard, Carl Hansen and former Assistant Village Manager Robert Garlo. After a public hearing, the Tequesta Village Council voted to approve the con- cept of the Tequesta Memorial, inscribed with names of honored Tequesta resi- dents. Tliere could be a closing-o- pening curtain with drapes framing the stage - and a large pulldown movie screen. Village Manager Michael Couzzo pointed out the possibility of locating the Tequesta Memorial on the spacious rear wall of the portico stage. He calculated that the rear wall of the stage would be wide enough for marble panels saved from the old Village Hall. I suggested that the honored names could be inscribed on the marble panels with gold-leaf letters.
