PROJECT OVERVIEW
Purpose: To replace the existing bridge, improve facilities ford `" ,
bicycle and pedestrian, and improve horizontal and vertical
clearances at the navigable waterway channel
Project Limits: From CR A1A to CR 707
Project Duration: 1458 days (plus holidays and weather days)
Bridge Closure: 20-month bridge closure Spring 2023 ��
Traffic Management Improvements: Completed prior to detour l " ,

Anticipated Completion: Early 2026 \\�

PROJECT IMPROVEMENTS
■ Replacing the US 1 Bridge (Bridge No. 930562) over the
Loxahatchee River with bike lanes and sidewalks in each
direction
■ Installing Intelligent Transportation System technology to
actively manage traffic flow
■ Adding decorative lighting and drainage
■ Upgrading signage and pavement markings
■ Minor improvements to the Alt Al bridge (Bridge No.

MONITORING
The following traffic monitoring devices will be installed prior to
detour along detour route:
1 . Bluetooth travel time devices
■ Provides Palm Beach County with real-time travel time
information for distribution to the public
2. Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Cameras
DIU - x ■ Real-time view of the project corridor to detect traffic incidents
. Microwave Vehicle Detection Systems (MVDS)
■ Lane by lane traffic data to improve traffic signal timing
4. Dynamic Messaging Sign (DMS)
