HomeMy WebLinkAboutHandouts_Regular_8/12/2021 (2) �j'{'4 ¢34 - � -tea.*� � � i •(�. �' Y +{ ! - r r 'rp ♦ a .� �. _ WFe INV A ol '�"�`� �� • � � . � �,'�ra .� —fir ` Ce leYM What Is A Resident's Academy? o The resident's academy is a program designed to educate residents about local government o It is meant to answer any questions residents have about their local government o A resident's academy allows various departments, in a municipality, to share what their purpose is for the community Purpose o To give residents the opportunity to further their knowledge about local government o To create a strong sense of community and friendship with other residents in Tequesta o To meet and learn from the leaders and employees of the Village of Tequesta Eligibility o The individual must be a resident of the incorporated Village of Tequesta o The resident must be 18 years or older o There will be 20 available seats for this academy; seats are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis o Signups for the academy are to be determined Cost o The cost is completely free for all participants o We just ask for the time and commitment of the residents for the entirety of the academy o Dinner, from a local restaurant, will also be provided weekly at no cost to participants Cost 100% FREE Duration o The Academy will be a 7 week/8 session long program o Each weekly session will be 2 hours long from 6:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. o Each presenter will have about 30 minutes to share about what their department does The Departments & Groups Featured o Every department in the village will present o Each week will focus on a different aspect of local government o The EAC and the business forum will also get to share what they do in the community The Schedule of Events Sessions ,.
