HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution_36-21_8/12/2021RESOLUTION NO. 36-21 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA, ADOPTING A PERMIT APPLICATION FEE FOR DOG - FRIENDLY DINING; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 09-21 of the Village Council of the Village of Tequesta, Florida established and adopted regulations regarding dog -friendly dining; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the foregoing ordinance, the Village Council has established a permitting process consistent with state law allowing dogs within certain designated outdoor portions of public food service establishments; and WHEREAS, in order to protect the health, safety, and general welfare of the public, local participating food service establishments must apply for and receive a permit from the Village before allowing patrons' dogs on their premises; and WHEREAS, the Village Council has the authority to establish and set fees for certain program services deemed appropriate for the protection and betterment of the public's health; and WHEREAS, such fees contribute to the Village's ability to cover the cost of processing the initial permit application; and WHEREAS, the permit fee charged will be reviewed annually and adjusted periodically, as deemed necessary and appropriate, to cover the cost of processing applications. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: In an effort to address the costs of performing services and activities necessary to regulate dog -friendly dining within the Village, a permit application fee of $25.00 is hereby established. Section 2: That all other resolutions, orders, directives, or schedules that are inconsistent with the fee schedule established herein are hereby repealed. Section 3: The permit fee established pursuant to this Resolution shall become effective September 1, 2021.
