ATTEST: Village Clerk Mary Wolcott w Mayor Geraldine A. Genco Wednesday the 29th of May, 2002 For - Commissioner Karen Marcus Post Office Box 1989 West Palm Beach, Florida 33402 Dear Commissioner Marcus: Recently I read of the Palm Beach Commissions consideration for a proposed referendum for the November ballot to bury all of our power lines in Palm Beach County, and I wanted to register my hearty approval of the idea. I am well aware that the costs of such a project would be borne by the individual property owners, but the combined purchasing power of the entire County should make this possible at the least cost to each homeowner while increasing the market value of their respective homes to a far greater extent than the cost of this great improvement. I understand that you are in favor of this referendum, and I want to add my support for this timely and most desirable initiative. For example, we here in Tequesta would instantly enjoy an updated look for our older community while protecting ourselves from almost certain damage during a major hurricane. Allowing the people to make this decision via a referendum is clearly the best way to make this most progressive step possible. Thank you for listening to this voter's voice. Kind regards, Howard S.
