Weinand, Fire Chief` Date: June 25, 2002 Subject: Award of telephone system for the Public Safety Facility to Advanced Communication Solutions Attached is a proposal request from Advanced Communication Solutions for providing a telephone system, paging system and the necessary cabling for these systems. In addition, the vendor is providing the cabling necessary for the police and fire departments' computer networks. Chief Allison and myself have been meeting with phone vendors for several months and we have received pricing from four major phone vendors ranging from $75,945.00 to $46,579,25. We feel confident that Advanced Communication Solutions can provide the system necessary for this building. They have extensive experience in government phone systems including Palm Beach County's Emergency Operation Center. The cost of this system from Advanced Communication Solutions with a five year extended warranty is $46,579.25. We estimated and allocated $50,000.00 for this phone system in the Public Safety construction project. As a side note, this phone system is expandable and we will be able to connect the new Village Hall when it is built. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The purchase and installation of a phone and paging system for the public safety facility at 357 Tequesta Drive, from Advanced Communication Solutions, Inc., of Deerfield Beach, Florida, as listed on the attached proposal dated May 23, 2002, attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and incorporated by reference as part of the resolution, is hereby approved.
