GP/rr Attachment Word/E/ROOD MEMO RESOLUTION NO. 60 - 01/02 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AWARDING A CONTRACT TO ROOD LANDSCAPE CO., INC., OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA, IN THE AMOUNT OF $116,987.66, FOR SWALE AND LANDSCAPE IMPROVEMENTS ON COUNTRY CLUB DRIVE, HAVING A FY 2001/2002 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND ALLOCATION OF $130,000 AND AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPLICABLE CONTRACT ON BEHALF OF THE VILLAGE. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Two pre -qualified Licensed Landscape Bidders submitted their bids as follows (copy of bid tabulation is attached): 1- Rood Landscaping: $116,987.66 with Alternate of $135,355.00 (for larger trees only) 2- Terracon Services, Inc.: $118,861.98 with No Alternate Based on our findings, it is our professional opinion that Rood Landscaping possesses the capacity to ® accomplish the work. We therefore recommend the Village of Tequesta approve Rood Landscaping as the low base bid contractor for the project. The alternate bid from Rood Landscaping totals $177,442.66. This amount is obtained as follows: Base Bid Cost of Smaller Oaks Cost of Larger Oaks $116,987.66 $74,900.00 (deduct) $135,355.00 (add) $177,442.66 The project budget is $130,000 and the base bid will provide a contingency of approximately 10%.
