Attention: Gary Preston
RE: Village of Tequesta — Country Club Drive Phase III Streetscape Improvements
Dear Mr. Preston:
One Harvard Circle
West Palm Beach, FL 33409-1923
Tel 561.515.6500
Fax 561.515.6502
On June 25, 2002, the bids were opened for the above named project. Two pre -qualified Licensed
Landscape Bidders submitted their bids as follows (copy of bid tabulation is attached):
1- Rood Landscaping: $116,987.66 with Alternate of $135,355.00 (for larger trees only)
2- Terracon Services, Inc.: $118,861.98 with No Alternate
Based on our findings, it is our professional opinion that Rood Landscaping possesses the capacity to
® accomplish the work. We therefore recommend the Village of Tequesta approve Rood Landscaping as
the low base bid contractor for the project.
The alternate bid from Rood Landscaping totals $177,442.66. This amount is obtained as follows:
Base Bid
Cost of Smaller Oaks
Cost of Larger Oaks
$116,987.66
$74,900.00 (deduct)
$135,355.00 (add)
$177,442.66
The project budget is $130,000 and the base bid will provide a contingency of approximately 10%.
If you have any questions, please contact me.
Very truly yours,
