RESOLUTION 07-22 OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A TEQUESTA FIRE RESCUE MASTER FEE SCHEDULE
AS IDENTIFIED IN THE ATTACHED "EXHIBIT A" AND AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE MANAGER TO
PROCEED ON BEHALF OF THE VILLAGE; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES
Please find attached Resolution 07-22 which establishes a Master Fee Schedule for Tequesta Fire
Rescue. This item was discussed at the January 31, 2022 workshop and will supersede Resolution
45-21 which was approved at the September 9, 2021 Council Meeting; it is being updated to correct a
minor typographical error and to waive Emergency Medical Service Transport Fees for all full-time and
part-time Village Employees (excluding elected officials).
This Master Fee Schedule provides greater transparency between Tequesta Fire Rescue and our
residents, businesses and visitors.

A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
TEQUESTA, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A
TEQUESTA FIRE RESCUE MASTER FEE SCHEDULE AS IDENTIFIED
IN THE ATTACHED "EXHIBIT A" AND SUPERSEDING THE
ATTACHED "EXHIBIT B" RESOLUTIONS 45-21 AND AUTHORIZING
THE VILLAGE MANAGER TO PROCEED ON BEHALF OF THE
VILLAGE; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Tequesta aims to provide
outstanding services to our residents, visitors and businesses; and,
WHEREAS, the Village Council attempts to make fee schedules clear
and readily available to all residents, businesses and visitors; and,
WHEREAS, the Village Council currently has fee schedules established
in Resolution 45-21 previously approved by Village Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 Resolution No. --- 07-22 is hereby approved establishing the
Master Fee Schedule for Tequesta Fire Rescue as listed in "Exhibit A" and superseding
Resolutions 45-21 listed as "Exhibit B";
Section 2 This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage.

specifications, engineered submittals, shop drawings, sketches, and for inspections for all new

d. Adjustment of Fees:
Per Village Resolution 07-22, commencing February 11, 2022 and updating July 1 of each subsequent
year, all fees in the Tequesta Fire Rescue Master Fee Schedule Section I shall be adjusted by an annual
cost index. The annual cost index shall be the average of the May Consumer Price Index for All Urban
Consumers, Southern Region and the May Consumer Price Index, Medical Care Group. Resolution 07-22
hereby supersedes Resolution 45-21.

Section II: Emergency Medical Services Transport Fees
A. Emergency Medical Services Transport Fees:
A fee shall be imposed by the Village for each Emergency Medical Services Transport performed
by the Fire -Rescue Department and shall be according to the fee schedule herein set forth
below. NOTE —as a benefit of employment with the Village of Tequesta, Emergency Medical
Service Transport Fees are waived for all full-time and part-time Village of Tequesta employees
(excluding elected officials).
B. Fee Adjustment:
Our fees have been adjusted upward for two consecutive years. However, compared to local
municipalities, the user fees for Tequesta Fire -Rescue are the lowest of all Fire Rescue Agencies
in Palm Beach County. The following table shows the current User Fee Schedule for Tequesta
Fire Rescue Ambulance Transport Services.

C. Review and Adjustment of Fees:
The pre -hospital emergency care user fees shall be determined and reviewed annually in
accordance with a detailed analysis of associated costs. The purpose of this review is to evaluate
the level of service for the pre -hospital emergency medical care system, to determine whether it
should be adjusted based on changed conditions, to analyze the effects of inflation or other cost
factors on the actual cost of providing such services, and to ensure that the user fees charged
will not exceed the reasonably anticipated costs of fire -rescue pre -hospital emergency care
system. All future adjustments of fees are at the discretion of Village Council.

All additional trips shall have cumulative charges, based upon the above schedule. Each
additional trip doubles the previous inspection charge.
Initial fee covers initial inspection and one re -inspection trip. Final inspection fee will be
based upon the number of inspections needed for compliance in accordance with re -
inspection fee schedule.

A fee shall be imposed by the Fire Rescue Department for the protection of special events, the
requested participation inspecial events orfor requested classes within the Village, and shall be
according to the fee schedules below.
l. Classes

Staffing and vehicles will be assigned at the discretion of the Fire Chief as appropriate for the
detail with cost based on the Event/Life Safety Fee Schedule.

Chief will determine and require the number of personnel required to render the
building safe. Typically, only one firefighter is required, but it could be more depending
on the building and occupancy. A TFR vehicle will be stationed at the scene for gear
storage and communication. All cost are based on the Event/Life Safety Fee Schedule.
b. Special Event Protection
The Fire Chief will determine and require the number of personnel required for the
protection of the special event. Staffing and vehicles will be assigned as appropriate
for the event with all cost based onthe Event/Life Safety Fee Schedule. There isa3
hour minimum.
