Re: Utilities Department Monthly Report

Please find the August utilities dashboard attached and the August monthly report for the
Utilities Department below:
• Stormwater
o Gulfstream Dr. & Riverside Dr. stormwater improvements completed August 26
o Grant - Dover Ditch Living Shoreline project (joint with Town of Jupiter) —
presentation August 8th to the Loxahatchee River Preservation Initiative (LRPI)
helped result in LRPI board ranking the project #1
• Water
o Jupiter Island interconnect open as of August 4, 2022 - VOT providing—200,000
gallons of Tequesta water per day to their customers while challenges with South
Martin Regional Utilities' finished water pumps are resolved and will be billed on a
quarterly basis as per the interconnect agreement.
o Potable water well #18 & #19 replacement project — easement agreement drafted
by Legal sent to Jupiter Hills Country Club's legal team for approval
o Potable water well #2 rehabilitation project - complete and well back in service
o County Line Road Bridge Replacement project — Martin County will meet in
September with all utilities to discuss the project; the Village is discussing related
water main relocations with the Loxahatchee River District
• Utility Billing/ Customer Service
o Per Council request, starting in September, utility bills will now be mailed mid -
month to enhance customer service by shortening time between meter reads and
billing. Meters are read the first of the month. Historically, bills were sent out 30
days later. The extra lead-time was needed before AMI meters were installed to help
ensure accurate billing. Sending the bills mid -month shortens that lead-time by half,
enabling customers to see their water use much earlier and any potential water
leaks.

RE: Utilities Department Monthly Report
o Water service and voluntary annexation —the first customer who fell into the
category of voluntary annexation after the related Council resolution passed came
in, paid for a connection, and the forms are in routing for signatures
• Other
o The Utilities Department and my Village colleagues have welcomed me as the new
utilities director. I am getting familiar with the projects and moving parts and
appreciate everyone's helpfulness, kindness, and patience. I am very glad to be here
and a part of the Village team!
