Regular Council STAFF MEMO Meeting: Regular Council - Dec 08 2022 Staff Contact: Doug Chambers, Director of Public Works Department: Public Works Consider Approval of Donation Agreement for Banyan Tree Maintenance SUMMARY: 419= I The following agenda item references an offer to donate funds to maintain the Banyan Tree on Point Drive. The Village of Tequesta owns and maintains the Banyan Tree on Point Drive. Several times each year, the Public Works Department schedules trimming based on an arborists assessment and recommendations. Village Resident Paul Wittmann, has offered to contribute $10,000 to maintain the tree in Fiscal 2023. The Village Council accepted Mr. Wittmann's $10,000 donation in Fiscal Year 2022. The Public Works Department expends $8,000-$10,000 annually to maintain the tree. It is at the Village Council's discretion to accept this generous offer from Mr. Wittmann.
