MEMORANDUM
TO: Village Council
FROM: Thomas G. Bradford, Village Manager
DATE: November 1, 1990
SUBJECT: Board of Adjustment Appointments; Agenda Item
There are three matters relating to the Board of Adjustment
requiring Village Council attention as follows:
1) Vice -Chairman Reddecliff has resigned (see attached) effective
October 29th due to employment obligation. Direction in filling
this opening is requested.
2) Attached is a memorandum received from Scott Ladd, Clerk to the
Board of Adjustment, indicating that the term of regular Board
member James Van Wagner expires on December 31, 1990. With
only one Village Council meeting scheduled between now and the
expiration date, we are seeking Village Council direction
relative to your desires in filling this position or
reappointing Mr. Van Wagner.
3) In a related matter, I have spoken to Mr. Ed Nelson who was
appointed as a regular member at the October llth Village
Council meeting. Mr. Nelson has indicated that he would be
willing to be reassigned (appointed) as an alternate member to
the Board of Adjustment, to enable one of the current alternate
members to move up as a regular member. In the past, alternate
members have been given opportunity to become regular members
after having served an apprenticeship of sorts. The current
alternate members are Mr. Kenneth Northamer and Mr. Al DeMott
which were both appointed on May 25, 1989, meaning that neither
has seniority over the other. Should you choose this option,
as suggested by Mr. Nelson, you would also accomplish your goal
of obtaining membership to this Board from different areas
throughout the Village because Mr. Nelson would serve as an
alternate, lives in a different subdivision and alternates have
opportunity to serve quite often to review Board matters.

Dear Mr. Bradford
Please accept my resignation, effective immediately, from
the Tequesta Zoning Board of Adjustment.
I am happy to have served on the Board for the past several
years and regret the fact that I cannot continue. My
decision is necessitated by my present assignment at Pratt
& Whitney which requires me to be out of town most weekdays.
Recent developments indicate that this situation will
continue for the forseeable future, forcing me to miss most
Board meetings.
Thank you for appointing nie to the Board. I am sorry for not
diving more notice but, until recently, I was hopeful that I
cc:>uld continue.
Sincerely y rs
7 e M. Reddecliff
