Consider Approving a Letter of Support for the Indian Trail Improvement District Supporting the Right
for Voters to Hold a Special Referendum Election in November 2023 to Approve or Oppose Becoming
a Home Rule Municipality Named the Village of Loxahatchee

The Indian Trail Improvement District requested the Village Council support the efforts of residents who
have submitted a local bill to the State Legislature. This bill would allow a vote for incorporation of Palm
Beach County's 40th municipality, Village of Loxahatchee. The Village of Loxahatchee would be just
over 42 square miles with a population of nearly 45,000. It is an equestrian, agricultural community
whose residents enjoy its rural ambiance and natural resources.
The letter of support would state the Village Council supports the effort to provide voters with the right
to either approve or oppose becoming a home rule municipality. The Village of Tequesta Council also
supports the right for voters to hold a Special Referendum Election in November 2023.

On February 15, 2023, Indian Trail Improvement District requested a letter of support for the
efforts of a group of residents having submitted a local bill to the State Legislature to allow a
vote for incorporation of Palm Beach County's 40t" municipality, Village of Loxahatchee. The Bill
Title is the "Village of Loxahatchee." The Village will be just over 42 square miles with a
