SUBJECT: Proposed "Parking Violation" Ordinance
Attached is a copy of a proposed ordinance setting fines
for parking violations within the Village of Tequesta.
Currently, there is no local ordinance for parking fines
and this ordinance will provide for inclusion within the
official Code of Ordinances of the Village.
This list of violations is for the more common violations
that may occur within the Village and also provides that any not
listed shall be prescribed by the appropriate Florida State
Statute.
Fines are to be paid to the Village within 48 hours of
infraction.
This ordinance has been reviewed by the Village Legal
Counsel, John C. Randolph.

Parking Violation Ordinance
Dear Chief Roderick:
In response to your letter of August 29, 1990, I have prepared an
ordinance relating to parking violations. Please review this and
see if it accommodates your purpose. If so, we can submit it to
the Village Council for approval.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM
BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, MAKING IT UNLAWFUL TO
VIOLATE CERTAIN PARKING RESTRICTIONS WITHIN
THE VILLAGE; ESTABLISHING A FINE FOR VIOLATION
THEREOF; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING
FOR REPEAL OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT;
PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.

IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL
OF THE VILLAGE OF
TEQUESTA,
PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Parking Violations/Fines.
It
shall De unlawful for any person to
violate any of the
parking
regulations referenced herein. The following shall
constitute the fine for the violations listed
below:

Fines shall be paid to the Village of Tequesta within forty-
eight (48) hours of the time and date of issuance of the parking
ticket.

Section Z. Other Parking Violations.
All other parking violations shall be as prescribed by the
appropriate Florida State Statute or other ordinance relating
thereto.
Section 3. Severability.
If any provision of this Ordinance or the application thereof
is held invalid, such invaliditv shall not affar-t +-hc
provisions or applications of this Ordinance which can be given
effect without the invalid provisions or applications, and to this
end, the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby declared
severable.
Section 4. Repeal of Ordinances in Conflict.
All other ordinances of the Village of Tequesta, Florida, or
parts thereof which conflict with this or any part of this
Ordinance are hereby repealed.
Sections_ Codification.
This Ordinance shall be codified and made a part of the
official Code of Ordinances of the Village of Tequesta.
Section 6. Effective Date.
This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage
and approval, as provided by law.
