DATE: February 2, 1990 SUBJECT: E-911 Interlocal-..Agreement-aAmendment;--------- —- - -------- Agenda Item VIII, A On May 12, 1988, the Village Council approved an Interlocal Agreement with Palm Beach County for the enhancement and maintenance of the E-911 System in the Village Communications Center within the Police Department. Subsequent to the previously - approved Interlocal Agreement, the Village Council approved a special appropriation in the amount of $18, 284 for -the Village to - purchase a new emergency generator necessitated by the new electrical requirements of the E-911 System. The new proposed Interlocal Agreement before you formalizes and-puts into motion a reimbursement of the funds expended by the Village for • the • emergency generator. ' Therefore, it is recommended that you approve the Interlocal Agreement amendment and authorize the Village Manager to execute the same on behalf of the Village. The three copies must be approved by the appropriate city officials and executed. S-I170, West I'alm Beach, Florida 33406 INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT AMENDMENT BETWEEN THE .BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AND VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA FOR THE ENHANCEMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF THE E 9-1-1 _TELEPHONE SYSTEM THIS AMENDMENT NO. 1T to an Interlocal Agreement dated the 12th day of July, 1988, and approved by the Board of County Com- missioners in Resolution No. R 88-969 by and between PALM BEACH COUNTY, a political subdivision of the State of Florida, hereaf- ter referred to as COUNTY and the VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, a Florida municipal corporation, whose address is P. O. Box 3273, Tequesta, Florida 33469, herein referred to as the CITY/TOWN. WHEREAS, the COUNTY and the CITY/TOWN, desire to revise the equipment and services to be provided under the Interlocal Agree- ment to conform to funding levels to fiscal year 1990; and WHEREAS, Section 3 of the above mentioned original Interlocal agreement dated July 12, 1988, is shown as follows: 3. The following equipment and services are required to operate the E 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone System in the VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA and shall include all maintenance and recurring costs which will be assumed by the COUNTY: * Equipment to provide Automatic (telephone) Number Identification (ANI) , and Automatic Lo- cation Information (ALI) at an initial cost of $39, 946. 00 and a monthly recurring cost of $1,765.70. (To be paid directly to Southern Bell) * Combination Logging Recorders/Instant Playback Recorders at an initial cost of $9, 198. 50 and an additional maintenance agreement for twelve months at a cost of $576. 00. * Telecommunications Device for the Deaf (TDD) at an initial cost of 18. 38 and a recurring monthly cost of $10.96. for a total annual cost of $21,914 . 30; and WHEREAS, the parties agree that section 3 of the above men- tioned Interlocal Agreement should be amended to read as follows: 3 . The following equipment and services are required to operate the E 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone System in the VILLAGE OF TEOUESTA and shall include all maintenance and recurring costs which will be assumed by the COUNTY: * Equipment to provide Automatic (telephone) Number Identification (ANI) , and Automatic Lo- cation Information (ALI) at a monthly recur- ring cost of $1,765.70. (To be paid directly to Southern Bell) * Combination Logging Recorders/Instant Playback Recorders maintenance agreement for twelve months at a cost of $576. 00. * A generator and accouterments at a total ini- tial 'cost of $18,284. for a total annual cost of $40,048.40; and WHEREAS, there are sufficient funds in the 9-1-1 budget to provide for this amendment. NOW THEREFORE except as expressly modified above, all other terms and conditions of the Interlocal Agreement are hereby confirmed and remain in full force and effect. In WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have set their hands and seal today and year first above written.
