SUBJECT: Task Force Request for Funding for Advertising
of the Master Plan in Palm Beach Life Magazine
At the December 15th Meeting of the Downtown Development Task
Force, there was a unanimous vote to request that the Task Force
seek Village Council approval for two (2) black and white, one-half
page advertisements in the March and April 1990 issues of , Palm
Beach Life Magazine. The cost is $1,445 per issue for a total
funding request of $2, 890.
Jim Pilz pointed out that Palm Beach Life has a national
circulation received by most people with an interest in Palm Beach
County. The purpose for choosing this publication is that it would
be received by such persons during leisure time at home allowing
more time to review the ad. The purpose of a black and white
advertisement would be to save money relative to color ads, but
more importantly, black and white stands out quite well in Palm
Beach Life.
This is a very reasonable cost for national exposure of the
Tequesta Master Plan. It is my understanding that the Palm Beach
Life staff will help in the ad layout. Additionally, we have not
received any official confirmation that the Tequesta Master Plan
will appear in an upcoming issue of Urban Land.
It is recommended that the Village Council approve the
expenditure of $2, 890 for advertising in Palm Beach Life with said
funding to be derived from the unappropriated fund balance of the
General Fund.
