MEMORANDUM:
TO: Village Council

Clerk of the Community Appearance Board
DATE: January 21, 1988
SUBJECT: Report to Council with regard to the Community
Appearance Board reviews and activities for the
period 1-13-88 through 1-25-88.
The following applications were reviewed by the
Community Appearance Board on January 20, 1988:
1. Resubmittal of an application from Vic' s
Hardware, 222 Tequesta Drive, for changes to
store front ( Tequesta Plaza) .
2. An application from Contour Developers for a
3' X 12' internally lit, wall mounted sign
reading "Vulcano' s Italian Pizzeria Ristorante"
located at 221 U. S. Hwy. One South ( Village
Square Shopping Center) .
The following actions with regard to the above
applications occurred:
1. Application No. 1 was tabled, see attached
letter to applicant.
2. Application No. 2 was approved, see attached
letter to applicant.
A copy of the minutes of the Community
Appearance Board meeting of 1-20-88 are attached to this
report.

SUBJECT: Resubmittal of application for changes to store
front.
MAJOR POINTS: Member Gettig asked the clerk to read the
appropriate sections of the appearance plan
that relates to this application. The clerk
read into the record the language in Section 7-
6, Paragraphs 1 & 3, of the Community
Appearance Code.

ADDITIONAL BOARD COMMENTS:
Paul Coben gave a report to the Board based on
input . from a Village Council meeting with regard to the Board' s
functions and review procedures; specifically, addressing the
building at 218 U. S. Hwy. One, South ( Hamilton building) . Much
discussion followed with regard to this issue. The Clerk is
supposed to report in some manner to the Village Council the
actions and concerns of the Community Appearance Board.
The Chairman reported on the letter she has
prepared to send to Rinker.
The Chairman reported on concerns about the
Bayview Terrace / Tequesta Drive landscaping issue.

Subject: Your application for Community Appearance Board
review of a 3' X 12' internally lit, wall
mounted sign reading "Vulcano' s Italian,
Pizzeria Ristorante" located at 221 U. S.
Hwy. One.
This letter is to confirm the action of the
Village of Tequesta Community Appearance Board at the
January 20, 1988 meeting approving your application for
the above referenced sign as follows:
Provide a white border around the metal cabinet
to match the existing building stucco.
This approval has no bearing or relationship to
any other approvals or permits which might be required.
The Village of Tequesta building department should be
contacted in this regard.

Dear Mr. Perrone:
Subject: Your application for changes to the store front
at above location.
This letter is to confirm the action of the
Village of Tequesta Community Appearance Board at the
January 20, 1988 meeting tabling your application as
submitted for the above referenced changes. The Board
made a suggestion that window treatments be added inside
the glass store front rather than placing the wood panels
on the outside of the glass. You were again given the
option of re—submitting your application if the above
suggestion does not work.
