VILLAGE COUNCIL WORKSHOP MEETING
SEPTEMBER 22, 1988
I. The Tequesta Village Council held a Village Council Workshop
Meeting at the Village Hall, 357 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta,
•
Florida, on Thursday, September 22, 1988. The meeting was
called to order at 9:00 A.M. by Mayor Ron T. Mackail and a roll
call was taken by the Village Clerk. Councilmembers present
were: Mayor Ron T. Mackail, Edward C. Howell, Vice-Mayor;
Councilmembers William E. Burckart, and Earl L. Collings.
Councilmember Joseph N. Capretta was out of town on vacation and
was excused from the meeting. Village Officials present were:
Thomas G. Bradford, Village Manager; Wendy K. Harrison,
Administrative Assistant to the Village Manager; Department
Heads, and Bill C. Kascavelis, Finance Director/Clerk.
II. REVIEW OF THE PROPOSED TEQUESTA DRIVE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT.
Village Manager Bradford reviewed the need for the Tequesta
Drive Improvements. Jim Collins, Project Engineer, reviewed the
comprehensive traffic study and the design phase of the
improvement project.
All aspects of the project and costs were reviewed in detail by
Council. The majority of comments from residents attending the
workshop meeting expressed concern that the project retain
landscaping necessary to enchance the aesthetics for the main
entrance to the Village. Upon completion of the review, a
consensus of Council was taken and although they expressed
serious concerns about the project cost increases, it was their
desire to proceed with the project as proposed.
A copy of the Comprehensive Traffic Study and Revised Estimated
Project Cost Estimates are attached and made a part of these
minute's for informational purposes.
III. STORM WATER UTILITY MANAGEMENT PRESENTATION BY GEE & JENSON
ENGINEERING ARCHITECTS & PLANNERS, INC. -
Mr. John McKune, P.E. , Gee & Jenson Engineering and staff
members reviewed a program outline for a Storm Water Utility
Improvement Operation and Maintenance - System. A copy of the
presentation is attached hereto and made a part of these minutes
for informational purposes. Upon completion of the
presentation, the Village Manager was requested to review the
proposal in detail and prepare his recommendations for
consideration of implementation of the Storm Water Utility
Concept for use by the Village.
