AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE lifioV (6
VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, U FLORIDA, AMENDING ARTICLE III OF THE VILLAGE 2,0-
CHARTER, BY REPEALING AND RESCINDING SECTION 4�
3.04, THE VILLAGE TREASURER; SECTION 3.05,
THE TAX ASSESSOR; AND SECTION 3.06,
THE TAX COLLECTOR; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION;
PROVIDING FOR EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, there no longer exists a need in the Village of
Tequesta for a Village Treasurer, a Tax Assessor, or a Tax
Collector, in that said functions are now handled either by
Palm Beach County in the case of the Tax Assessor and the
Tax Collector, and by the Village Manager and Finance
Director in the case of Village Treasurer; and
WHEREAS, it is therefore the desire of the Village
Council to amend the Charter in order to eliminate said
positions;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Village Council of
the Village of Tequesta, Palm Beach County, Florida as
follows:
Section 1. Section 3.04, the Village Treasurer; Section
3.05, the Village Tax Assessor; and Section 3.06, the Tax
Collector; of Article III of the Charter of the Village of
Tequesta are hereby rescinded and repealed.
Section 2. If any provision of this Ordinance or the
application of thereof is held invalid, such invalidity
shall not affect the other provisions or applications of
this Ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid
provisions or applications, and to this end the provisions
of this Ordinance are hereby declared severable.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be codified and made a
part of the official Code of Ordinances of the Village of
Tequesta.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately
upon its passage and approval as provided by law.
THE FOREGOING Ordinance was offered by
Councilmember , who moved its
adoption. The Ordinance was seconded by
Councilmember , and upon being
put to a vote, the vote was as follows:

The Mayor thereupon declared the Ordinance duly passed
and adopted this day of , 1988.
