MEMORANDUM
TO: Thomas G. Bradford, Village Manager
FROM: Gary Preston, Director of Public Works 74 .
DATE: January 12, 1994
SUBJECT: Tequesta Drive Streetscape Plan
On March 24, 1993, the Community Appearance Board, sating as the Tree Board,
recommended a Phase 1 Streetscape along Tequesta Drive between Willow
Road/Fiesta Avenue and Seabrook Road. The Streetscape Plan was prepared by
Steve Parker, local Landscape Architect and Alternate Tree Board Member, and
presented to the Tree Board for review at their May 12, 1993 meeting. The
proposed Phase 1 plan consisted of:
o A new irrigation system
o Relocation of five (5 ) Royal Palms
o Planting of Queen Palms, Live Oaks, Sabal Palms and Pigeon Plums
After reviewing the proposed plan, the Tree Board voted to approve Phase 1
as presented and request Fiscal Year 1994 funding in the amount of $12, 500
for project completion. This amount was later allocated by the Village
Council .
With this Memorandum, I have attached copies of the Tequesta Drive Phase 1
Streetscape providing Councilmembers Schauer and Collings an opportunity to
review the plan before the January 17, 1994 Public Works Committee Meeting.
Tree Board Members will also be in attendance at this meeting as they
requested a joint meeting with the Public Works Committee when the plans were
presented.
Steve Parker and I will be at the Public Works Committee Meeting to present
the plan and answer questions pertaining to this proposed project.
