BUDGET AMOUNT N/A FUNDING SOURCES: N/A DID YOU OBTAIN 3 QUOTES? ❑ Yes ❑ N/A AMOUNT AVAILABLE N/A EXPENDITURE AMOUNT: N/A IS THIS A PIGGYBACK: ❑ Yes ❑ N/A COMMENTS/EXPLANATION ON SELECTIONN/A National Clean Energy Sept 2023 Mayor Changes Page 14 of 675 Agenda Item #4. pw"c Of y 6E of TEpGA 1 i O National Clean Energy Week September 25th _ 29th WHEREAS, here in Tequesta and across Florida, clean and readily abundant forms of energy are powering more homes and businesses than ever before; and WHEREAS, clean energy, including generation from renewable sources such as wind, solar, and hydro sources as well as nuclear, natural gas, and energy storage, is part of our Country's energy future; and WHEREAS, Tequesta is committed to reducing our carbon footprint by participating in the Florida Race to Zero cohort to limit the negative impacts of climate change; and WHEREAS, Tequesta finalized its water treatment plant energy efficiency upgrades design; and WHEREAS, Tequesta is committed to reducing our carbon footprint by the creation of a tree canopy enhancement plan by its environmental advisory committee to expand its tree canopy to reduce GHG emissions, facilitate walking and bicycling and improve the beautification of the Village; and WHEREAS, In 2021, Florida surpassed North Carolina to become third in the nation in total solar power generating capacity, after California and Texas earning our reputation as the Sunshine State in recent years; and WHEREAS, Tequesta is committed to reducing our carbon footprint by promoting energy conservation through design, landscaping and building techniques. NOW, THEREFORE, I, Mayor Molly Young, do hereby proclaim September 25-29, 2023, as CLEAN ENERGY WEEK throughout The Village of Tequesta and encourage all residents of Tequesta to support commonsense solutions that address our economic and energy needs in the 21st Century. In Witness Whereof, we have here with set our hand and caused to be affixed the Seal of the Village of Tequesta this 141h day of September 2023.
