SUBJECT: Roofing Contract Award, Council Agenda Item
On June 27, 1996, RFQ's were sent to four local roofing contractor regarding
repairs to the Annex Building and the Water Treatment Plant. These companies were
Jupiter Roofing & Sheet Metal, Worley Roofing, Inc., Harold Turner Roofing, Inc. and
Tucker Roofing Services. Only two responded and their quotes were as follows:

Worley Roofing $20,165 $ 6,987 $27,152.00
Harold Turner Roofing $22,160 $ 8,300 $30,460.00
In light of the above, we are seeking Village Council approval for contract award
to Worley Roofing in the amount of $27,152.00. Funding will be provided by the Water
Enterprise Fund, Renewal and Replacement Account, Buildings and Renovations having
a budget allocation of $27,200.
Please place this important item on the August 8th Agenda for approval.

Furnish labor and materials to do the followino:
1 'Cut out and remove approximately 400 square feet of existing roof and insulation near front
door entry area.
2 Replace damaged insulation with new, hot mopped to concrete. Hot mop one#43 base sheet
and then three fiberglass felts on new area.
3 Remove existing 3x3 eaves drip and install new, hot mop two fiberglass felts on
eave flashing.
4 Prime entire roof surface with roof primer and install one layer of SBS granule surface
modified membrane set in hot asphalt.
5 Provide a Five (5)year guarantee against leaks.
6 Upon issuance of Purchase Order, work will commence within 10 days.

Furnish tabor and materials to do the following:
1 Remove existing tar and gravel roof and haul away debris for proper disposal.
2 Install a 1.5" I.S.O. insulation over lightweight deck with screws and plates.
3 Hot mop one #43 base sheet over insulation.
4 Install a 1/8"tapered insulation system over base sheet set in hot asphalt.
5 Hot mop one#43 base sheet over the tapered insulation system.
6 Fabricate and install .040 aluminum eaves drip to lock on the existing eave cleat.
7 Hot mop three (3) fiberglass felts over the base sheet and flash in for curbs and vents.
8 Coat entire surface with fibered aluminum roof coat.
9 Provide a five year guarantee against leaks.
NOTE NC unit will be removed from roof by others. Existing roof has little or no positive drainage.
The_new roof must provide positive drainage.
