SUBJECT: Stormwater Utility Notice of Assessments To Be
Reviewed at the August 8, 1996 Council Meeting
Attached is a draft of the Stormwater Utility Services Notice of Assessment,
prepared in accordance with Section 197.3632 (4)(b) Florida Statutes, for Council's
review and approval. The notice should also be approved by the Village Attorney for
legal sufficiency. Upon approval, the notice is required to be published at least 20 days
prior to the public hearing scheduled for Thursday, September 12, 1996, or by August
23, 1996, in the display advertisement section of the Palm Beach Post. The notice
containing the assessment for each parcel of property located in Tequesta must also be
mailed by first class mail to all property owners by August 23, 1996.
The notice is required to state the following information:
1. The purpose of the assessment.
2. The total amount to be levied against each parcel.
3. The unit of measurement to be applied against each parcel to determine
the assessment.
4. The number of such units contained within each parcel IERU's).
5. The total revenue, the local Government will collect by the assessment.
6. A statement that failure to pay the assessment will cause a Tax Certificate
to be issued against the property, which may result in a loss of title.
7. A statement that all affected property owners have a right to appear at a
hearing and to file written objections with the local governing board within
20 days of the notice.
8. And the date, time and place of the hearing.

As required by Florida Statutes, 197.3632, notice is hereby given by the Village of Tequesta of Palm Beach County, that
a special assessment has been levied against your property.
1. The purpose of the assessment is to defray the cost of stormwater utility services for fiscal year 1996-
1997.

the equivalent number of equivalent residential units (ERU's) of square footage (SF) impervious area (IA)
of each parcel, multiplied x the rate of $61.44 per ERU.

Medium 2,507 SF IA to 46,215 SF IA = 1.00 ERU's $61.44
Large 46,216 SF IA Up SF IA = 1.30 ERU's $79.87

Multi-Family Units SF IA = .84 ERU's $51.61
Condominium Units SF IA = .67 ERU's $41.16
Commercial Units 3,576 SF IA = 1.00 ERU's x $ 61.44

6. FAILURE TO PAY THIS ASSESSMENT WILL CAUSE A TAX CERTIFICATE TO BE ISSUED AGAINST
THE PROPERTY WHICH MAY RESULT IN A LOSS OF TITLE.
7. All affected property owners have a right to appear at the public hearing to be held at the Village of
Tequesta Village Hall Council Chambers, 357 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, Florida beginning at 7.00 P M.
on September 12, 1996 and to file written objections with the Village of Tequesta within 20 days of this
notice.
