As we discussed, the purpose of the Summit is to address traffic issues facing the North [1 County area and target potential tools for managing traffic and its related impacts. Participants will include elected and appointed officials from Palm Beach County, Martin County, and the cities in North County; the private sector, neighborhood I �0 representatives, and other interests. Additional details about the Summit will be sent L. Ti to you in February. I 1 As you know, we are in the process of finalizing arrangements for the Summit and i-i verifying financial commitments. Each municipality in the area has been asked to contribute $1,000.00 toward this effort. If Tequesta is willing to contribute, please I ; send a letter to me confirming the Village's level of funding. The summit will be held from 8:30 a.m. — [_1 5:00 p.m. on Friday,March 30th, and from 8:30 a.m. — 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. t Growth and its impacts on transportation continue to concern the citizens of north Palm Beach County. In an effort to address those concerns, the officials of Palm Beach County, the Town of 1—; Jupiter, and the City of Palm Beach Gardens have joined together to initiate a collaborative process __1 to gain better insights on this issue across municipal boundaries. The purpose of the Summit is to discuss traffic issues facing the North County area and target potential tools for managing traffic {-1 ,----„, and its related impacts. The conveners hope to begin a dialogue on these issues and goals. i I�'" The Summit is being coordinated by the FAU Joint Center for Environmental and Urban Problems, rri the South Florida Regional Planning Council, and the Florida Conflict Resolution Consortium, 1 1 entities with expertise in processes that assure neutrality and balance. Participants will include representatives of Palm Beach County, the cities in north Palm Beach County,Martin County, 1— developers,business interests, environmental interests, and homeowner groups.The outcome and 1 possible future action of this Summit will be determined by all the participants. For that reason, we believe it is very important for all affected entities to be represented.
