August 6 - September 7 , 2001
• On August 6, 2001, a staff meeting was held where the
following items were discussed:
- Discussion of agenda items for Village Council
meeting on August 9, 2001 .
- Discussion of Roger Buckwalter presentation at the
Village Council meeting on August 9, 2001 .
• On August 6, 2001, had meeting with Tom Jensen and Vice-
Mayor Capretta regarding Phase I and Phase II .
• On August 6, 2001, had meeting with Councilmember vonFrank
regarding Village issues .
• On August 6, 2001, had meeting with Colonel Edward Resnik
regarding Charter Review Board issues .
• On August 6, 2001, met with John Zuccarelli and Skip
Randolph regarding land swap and legal issues relating to
such.
• On August 6, 2001 , reviewed budget document with Finance
Director, Jody Forsythe.
• On August 7, 2001, met with Finance Department
representatives regarding budget document and preparation.
• On August 7, 2001, met with Colonel Ed Resnik regarding
revisions to Village Charter.
• On August 7, 2001, had meeting with Skip Randolph and John
Zuccarelli regarding land swap and legal issues pertaining
to such.

revisions accordingly.
• On August 23 , 2001, met with Laurie Held of PSI ; gave tour
of Tequesta and answered her questions relating to such.
• On August 23 , 2001, met with Tom Jensen, Kim Bodinizzo and
Russell White regarding outstanding grievances with the
Communication Workers of America.
• On August 24, 2001, attended the Awards Ceremony at Dwyer
High School, with awards being made by Congressman Mark
Foley.
• On August 24, 2001, met with Eric of Onsite regarding
computer issues and concerns .

• On August 24 , 2001, reviewed JMZ agreements with Peter
Holton.
• On August 27, 2001, held staff meeting where the following
items were discussed:
- Michael Estok, new Utilities Director, was
introduced.
- Tom Jensen reported that additional personnel is to
be brought in to complete Phase II .
- Department heads to turn in any changes to their
individual budgets .
- December 4th referendum will include the Village
Charter.
- On September 4, 2001, agenda will be the ordinance
for the new Village Charter.
- Discussion of agenda items for September 13th Village
Council meeting.
- Next newsletter will be out the week of September
3rd.
- Any department that is buying a Village vehicle has
to coordinate through Gary Preston. He will be
applying the decals on the vehicles .
- Award of new auditor to be made on September 4th at
the Special Village Council meeting.
- Department heads to get weekly reports from Finance;
reports to be reviewed on a monthly basis at staff
meetings .
- Tom Jensen reported that Country Club Drive to be
closed and down to one lane; all traffic to go
through north gate and should start in two weeks .
- Contract with Onsite being considered, which would
include some revisions .
- Police Chief Allison reported that the restrooms in
the police station needed to be cleaned on a daily
basis; a cleaning log is now to be positioned so
Wayne Jackson can report when he cleans .
- Kim Bodinizzo discussed outstanding grievances and
overtime pay for Hurricane Floyd coverage.
- 2 . 5% increase for probationary employees discussed;
once off probation, you get increase but does not
apply when you get a promotion.
- Performance appraisals discussed - process, rating
progress and any revisions you would like to see.

meeting.

resident Ombres regarding driveway ordinance .

• On August 30, 2001, held meeting with Tom Jensen regarding
Phase II construction and progress .
• On August 30, 2001, attended Special Master hearing.
• On August 30 , 2001 , met with Mr. Griest regarding Village
issues .
• On August 31, 2001, met with Eric of Onsite regarding
computer issues and concerns .
• On September 4, 2001, held staff meeting where the
following items were discussed:
- Discussed agenda items for upcoming September 13th
Village Council meeting.
- Discussed agenda items for September 4th Special
Village Council meeting.
- Finance is to be only department to have a Village
credit card - all other credit cards are to be
cancelled.
- Finance to give each department head a printout of
revenues and expeditures for their review.
- If a department head budgeted for openings in their
department, the department head needs to start trying
to fill these open positions as soon as possible.
- The next issue of the Smoke Signals newsletter should
be out to residents shortly as it is at the printer' s
office as of September 5, 2001 .

- Public Works Director reported that the grant
deadline for county parks is fast approaching; Gary
Preston to follow up on this .
- Discussion of new health insurance, CIGNA, and
discussion of information sessions upcoming on
Wednesday, September 5, 2001 .
- Village Manager to attend ICMA conference in Salt
Lake City from September 19 - 27th. Steve Allison
will be acting village manager during this period.

MEMORANDUM
TO: Village Council Members and Village Manager

RE: Future Land Use Map/Comprehensive Plan
Amendment—Rood Property
Mr. Roy S. Rood and Patricia M. Rood,through their agent Gentile, Holloway,O'Mahoney,and
Associates, Inc., are requesting a Future Land Use Amendment to the Village of Tequesta
Comprehensive Plan for a parcel of land containing 15.23 acres and generally described as
being located north of Riverside Drive,west and adjacent to the Tequesta Pines Subdivision and
west and adjacent to the southern portion of Chapel Court Subdivision. This parcel of land,
upon being annexed into the Village,will be designated on the Village of Tequesta Future Land
Use Map as Residential Low Density (maximum 0.5 D.U.'s per acre),which will be compatible
to the adjacent land uses. The application for the Future Land Use/Comprehensive Plan
amendment was received by the Village on Thursday,August 30,2001. Upon initial review of
l; the application, it was determined that additional information was needed from the applicant
to complete the review in a timely fashion for presentation at the already advertised local
Planning Agency (LPA) Public Hearing and Village Council Public Hearing,both to be held on
September 13, 2001.
Since additional review time is needed to adequately review this application, it is respectfully
requested that both the LPA and Village Council continue these public hearings to a time
certain; that being 7:00 pm, Thursday, September 27, 2001. By continuing these public
hearings,it will not be necessary for the Village to re-advertise the hearings. Thank you.
