All scheduling is to go through the Executive Secretary. - Interlocal Agreement for Riverside Drive to be put on agenda for October llth meeting. - The Village' s website provider, 3 Geeks, and Onsite Computers is going to be discussed at next staff meeting as to whether Village employees are satisfied with the service they have been providing thus far. • On September 14, 2001, met with Vice-Mayor Capretta and Jim Humpage regarding the Village budget and other related Village issues . • On September 14, 2001, met with resident Harold Taylor regarding the Village budget . • On September 14, 2001, met with Finance representatives regarding the budget; Fax: (561) 575-6218 Accredited 2000 Stephen J.Allison Chief of Police Village Manager's Report Monthly Police Activity Summary September - 2001 Submitted by, Robert L. Garbo, Assistant Police Chief Juvenile First Offender Update Year-to-date, a total of twenty two juveniles have entered the agency's Juvenile First Offender Program. The program is run by Officer Shawn Miller who oversees all the juvenile arrests in the Village and diverts the appropriate offenders into the Youth Court process. Officer Miller currently has ten juveniles working toward successful completion of the program. Successful completion requires the juvenile offender to complete various sanctions which may include community service hours,jury duty obligations at youth court, letters of apology,written essays, jail tours, and others. Officer Miller's Juvenile First Offender Program has a recidivism rate of less than two percent. Sale of Illegal Narcotics September 27, 2001 (7:30 PM) Case 01000641 Sale of Illegal Drugs Investigation into the sale of illegal narcotics in Tequesta led to the arrest of two individuals by Tequesta Police at 1930 hours on Thursday, September 27, 2001. Arrests were made after two individuals attempted to sell 30 Ecstasy pills (street value $540) on US Hwy 1 in Tequesta. Arrested were Chad Patterson, 28 years of age, from 5657 Katherine Dr. Stuart, and George Terre], 27 years of age, from 183 W. 37th St. Riviera Beach. Both subjects were charged with the possession and distribution of illegal drugs, and incarcerated in the Palm Beach County Jail. A third individual is being charged with illegal possession. The investigation and arrests were coordinated by Detective Charles Weinblatt. August 31, 2001 (5:10 PM) Case 01000571 Sale of Illegal Drugs Investigation into the sale of illegal drugs in Tequesta led to the arrest of one individual by Tequesta Police at 1730 hours on August 31,2001. Robert Harkness, 20 years of age, from 19662 Red Maple Ln. Jupiter, was arrested after attempting to sell two ounces of marijuana (street value$700) on US Hwy 1 in Tequesta. Subject was incarcerated in the Palm Beach County jail for possession and distribution of marijuana. The investigation and arrest was coordinated by Detective Charles Weinblatt. Property Crimes September 3, 2001 (5:53 PM) Case 01000579 Burglary, Residential A burglary was reported at 27 Ridgewood Circle. Stolen was a video camera and several pieces of jewelry. September 3, 2001 (4:30 PM) Case 01000578 Auto Theft A green colored 1995 GMC Yukon was stolen from the JIB Club Marina parking lot at 2:30 PM on Monday, September 3rd. September 17, 2001 (10:34 AM) Case 01000621 Burglary, Commercial Approximately$1,100 in appliances were stolen from the Tequesta Trace construction site between 1:00 PM on 09-15-01 and 10:30 AM on 09-17-01. Suspect described as W/M, 5'11"with thin build and dirty blond hair. Suspect last seen wearing khaki shorts and polo shirt. Loss value $8.00. Incident recorded by Officer Jason Turner. September 17,2001 (2:00 PM) Case 01000618 Forgery Several stolen checks were forged and cashed at Wachovia Bank, 250 Tequesta Drive. Checks were stolen from a Jupiter residence and Tequesta Police are investigating the forgery jointly with Jupiter PD. Incident recorded by Officer Robert Worcester. September 17, 2001 (7:19 AM) Case 01000616 Criminal Mischief Victim reported the window of his vehicle smashed out in his driveway at 375 Franklin Road. September 20, 2001 (11:26 AM) Case 01000627 Theft,Retail The driver of a green colored SUV vehicle drove off without paying for$35.00 in gasoline from the Mobil Station, 764 US 1. September 24, 2001 (3:30 PM) Case 01000638 Forgery On September 8th, a briefcase was reported stolen to the Jupiter Police Department. On September 14th, a suspect attempted to cash one of the victim's checks at Wachovia Bank, 250 Tequesta Drive. A charge of uttering a forged check will be filed on the suspect in this case. Persons Crimes September 6, 2001 (8:15 AM) Case 01000585 Assault/Battery A 13 year old boy was allegedly assaulted by a classmate while waiting for the school bus at Seabrook Rd and Pinehill Trail West. September 10, 2001 (5:58 PM) Case 01000596 Aggravated Assault Fifty two year old John Hartwiger of Hobe Sound was arrested at Apex Texaco, 250 US 1, for aggravated assault after assaulting two victims with a knife. September 12, 2001 (9:00 PM) Case 01000600 Domestic Violence Police responded to a domestic violence complaint at 403 Beacon Street. Scott Campbell, 28 year old W/M, 403 Beacon St.,was arrested and charged with domestic violence,disorderly intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia. Subject was incarcerated in the Palm Beach County Jail. Police also arrested David Eastman, 35 year old W/M, 3338 Waterway Road, for battery. September 13, 2001 (4:05 PM) Case 01000602 Assault/Battery Police are investigating an alleged assault at Tequesta Tire, 350 Cypress Drive. Complainant identified as Anthony Lauretano, W/M 54 years old, of Palm Beach Gardens. Incident recorded by Officer Keith Smolen. September 14, 2001 (8:13 PM) Case 01000608 Assault/Battery Jeffrey Peterson,24 year old W/M of 360 Fiesta Ave. Tequesta,was charged with simple battery after he allegedly had an argument with one of the clerks at Speedway, 104 US 1, and then struck the clerk in the face. September 17, 2001 (11:41 AM) Case 01000617 Domestic Violence Gordon Ripma, 53 year old W/M, of 142 Pinehill Trail West was arrested and charged with domestic violence at his residence. September 22,2001 (2:29 AM) Case 01000632 Aggravated Battery Police responded to a reported fight in progress at 25 Tall Oak Circle, Tequesta. Michael Fitzmaurice, 44 years of age, from 5352 Eagle Lake Dr. P.B.G., was arrested for disorderly Intoxication. There are charges of aggravated battery pending against a second suspect after he struck an individual with a hammer. Incident recorded by Sergeant James Pi3ce. Arrests September 1, 2001 (4:46 PM) Case 01000574 DUI Sergio Tena, 33 year old W/M from Rialto CA., was arrested for DUI and Resisting Arrest. Subject was incarcerated in the Palm Beach County Jail. September 8, 2001 (7:19 PM) Case 01000590 Drug Arrest Christopher Beasley,25 year old B/M of Jupiter, was arrested for possession of crack cocaine and resisting arrest. Suspect was seen loitering near the Wachovia Bank and fled the area when confronted by police. While fleeing on foot, suspect was seen discarding a cell phone and silver container with suspected crack cocaine. Suspect was located moments later at McCarthy's Restaurant and incarcerated in the Palm Beach County Jail. Arrest recorded by Officer Jason Turner. September 8, 2001 (6:38 PM) Case 01000591 Drug Arrest Police responded to a reported domestic problem at a Tequesta Oaks residence. A 16 year old W/F was taken into custody for possession of marijuana and delivered to the Juvenile Assessment Center. Arrest recorded by Reserve Officer Jeff Maxson. September 12, 2001 (7:15 PM) Case 01000599 Drug Arrest A traffic stop at Village Blvd. and Old Dixie Hwy.,led to the arrest of David Santimaw,40 years old, of 19057 Arnold Dr., Tequesta. Subject was charged with possession of marijuana and released on a Notice to Appear. Arrest recorded by Officer Keith Smolen. September 13, 2001 (10:49 AM) Case 01000601 Grand Theft Officer Jason Turner and Detective Charles Weinblatt have been conducting an ongoing investigation regarding Dealing in Stolen Property. The investigation led to one arrest and the recovery of property stolen from 375 Beach Road, Tequesta. An antique gun and several necklaces,total value approximately$2,500,were recovered at a pawn shop in Hobe Sound and returned to the owner. Andrew Fisher, 23 year old W/M,of 5178 Isabelita Ave. Stuart, is being charged in Martin County with Dealing in Stolen Property. September 16, 2001 (12:31 AM) Case 01000614 Theft/Disorderly Intox. Three juveniles were arrested on charges of theft and disorderly intoxication after creating a disturbance at Denny's Restaurant and then attempting to leave without paying for their bill. Juveniles were taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center for processing. Incident recorded by Officer Joseph Petrick. September 18, 2001 (10:33 PM) Case 01000624 Disorderly Intox. A 16 year old juvenile was arrested in a parking lot at 223 Old Dixie Highway and charged with disorderly intoxication and resisting arrest with violence. Subject was delivered to the Juvenile Assessment Center. Arrest recorded by Officer Jason Turner. Other Cases September 3, 2001 (3:10 PM) Case 01000577 Trespass Two juveniles were warned for trespassing after they were found skateboarding in the parking lot of Ocean Villas, 225 Beach Road. Incident recorded by Sergeant Albrecht. August 27,2001 Case 01000514 Burglary/Grand Theft Detective Weinblatt's investigation lead to the arrest of a 19 year old Jupiter resident who has been charged with the Burglary reported at Armour Manor on August 5, 2001. All property reported in this crime has been recovered and returned to the victim. September 4,2001 Case 01000578 Stolen Vehicle Recovery The vehicle reported stolen in this case on September 3,2001,was found abandoned in the Limestone Creek area of Jupiter. Vehicle returned to the victim and the theft is being jointly investigated by Tequesta Police and the Multi-Agency Auto Theft Task Force. Recovery recorded by Detective Weinblatt. September 7, 2001 (9:28 AM) Case 01000589 Obscene/Harassing Calls Numerous obscene/harassing phone calls have been received at Walkers Warehouse, 304 Tequesta Drive. The phone company's harassing calls service was notified and police are investigating the source of the calls. Incident recorded by Officer Dave Davis. September 11, (4:00 PM) Case 01000598 Disturbance The early release day at Jupiter High School resulted in several dozen students congregating at Coral Cove Park. A reported altercation occurred between several of the students and one W/M was transported by EMS to Jupiter Medical Center for head injuries. Incident recorded by Sergeant Albrecht. September 21, 2001 (1;44 PM) Case 01000628 Car Fire Police responded to a car fire at the intersection of Pineview Road and Venus Avenue, and discovered a 1990 Linc. 4dr. engulfed in flames.
