MEW RESOLUTION NO. 9-01/02 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING AN AD OC ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO THE VILLAGE COUNCIL, TO BE KNOWN AS THE PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE; ESTABLISHING ITS PURPOSE; PROVIDING FOR ITS MAKEUP; AND ESTABLISHING THE TERM OF ITS EXISTENCE; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Tequesta deems it appropriate to review the recreational needs and desires of its citizens before establishing a recreational program; and WHEREAS, the Village Council desires to establish a Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee for the purpose of collecting input from the citizens with regards to Parks and Recreation and bringing the information to the Village Council; and NOW, THEREFORE, :E IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEAC COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The Village Council hereby authorizes the formation of an ad hoc advisory board to be known as the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee. The specific purpose of said Committee shall be to serve as an advisory committee to the Village Council on matters relating to the Village parks and recreational activities, and what Tequesta's citizens would desire in a recreational program. SECTION 2. The Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee shall consist of seven (7) members, all of whom shall be residents of the Village. Applications to the Committee will be available to all citizens, and the Council shall select and ratify seven(7) members from the applicants at a Village Council Meeting subsequent to at least seven (7) applications having been received. SECTION 3: Of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee's seven (7) members, three (3) shall serve a term of one(1) year, and four(4)for the term of two (2)years from and after their appointment. Their successors shall be appointed for the term of two (2) years from and after the expiration of their terms of their predecessors in office. SECTION 4. The Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee shall meet as frequently as determined by the Committee; and SECTION 5. The Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee shall be dissolved at the will of the Village Council. SECTION 6. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage. THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION was offered by Councilmember , who moved its adoption.
