A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF

THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH
COUNTY, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING A COMMITTEE
TO THE VILLAGE COUNCIL TO BE KNOWN AS THE
SENIOR CITIZEN ADVISORY COMMITTEE;
ESTABLISHING ITS PURPOSE; PROVIDING FOR
ITS MAKEUP; AND ESTABLISHING THE TERM OF
ITS EXISTENCE; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the Village Council of the
Village of Tequesta deems it desirable to
encourage an understanding of the needs and
desires of its senior citizens to aid in the
establishment of senior recreation programs;
and
WHEREAS, the Village Council desires
to establish a Teen Senior Citizen Advisory
Committee for the purpose of collecting input
from the citizens with regards to senior
citizen issues and bringing the information
to the Village Council; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE
COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH
COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Village Council hereby authorizes
the formation of an advisory committee to be known
as the Senior Citizen Advisory Committee. The
specific purpose of said Committee shall be to:
1 . Determine the long and short term needs
of the Village' s aging residents and
recommend priorities to the Village
Council .
2 . Prepare recommendations on program
priorities to meet the needs of
Tequesta' s aging residents .
3 . Serve as an advocate on the behalf of
seniors in matter of local or regional
resource distribution.
Section 2 . The Senior Citizen Advisory Committee
shall consist of seven (7) members, all of whom
shall be residents of the Village . Applications
to the Committee will be available to all
citizens, and the Council shall select and ratify
seven (7) members from the applicants at a Village
Council meeting.
Section 3 . Of the Senior Citizen Advisory
Committee' s seven (7) members, three (3) shall
serve a term of one (1) year, and four (4) for the
term of two (2) years from and after their
appointment . Their successors shall be appointed
for the term of two (2) years from and after the
expiration of their terms of their predecessors in
office .
Section 4 . The Senior Citizen Advisory Committee
shall meet as frequently as determined by the
Committee; and
Section 5 . The Senior Citizen Advisory Committee
shall be dissolved at the will of the Village
Council by a 4-1 vote .
Section 6 . This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon passage .
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION WAS OFFERED by
Councilmember , who moved its
adoption. The motion was seconded by
Councilmember , and upon being
put to a vote, the vote was as follows :

The Mayor thereupon declared the Resolution duly
passed and adopted this day of , A.D,
