Subject: Agenda Item = Marine Unit Approval
Date: November 21, 2001
At the October 2000 Village Council meeting, the Council approved the formation
of a marine unit, using donated funds, for a one-year trial period. The
department was instructed to present an evaluation of the program after being in
operation for a year.
I am requesting permission to make a presentation to Council at the December
2001 meeting. I will be asking Council to approve a resolution which will make
the marine unit a permanent division of the police department based on the
appropriation of funds each fiscal year.

A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA,
APPROVING THE OPERATION OF A MARINE UNIT AS A
PERMANENT DIVISION OF THE TEQUESTA POLICE
DEPARTMENT SUBJECT TO FUNDS BEING APPROPRIATED
EACH FISCAL YEAR.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE .COUNCIL OF
THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1 . The Tequesta Police Department marine unit
is authorized to function as a permanent division of the
department based on funds being appropriated each fiscal
year.
