The Utilities Department monthly report for October is found below:
Stormwater
• El Portal—joint project with Public Works—includes road/
sidewalk improvements
o ALL CATCH BASINS ARE IN THE GROUND O (dewatering
operations have ceased)
o Monday, October 30t"—two yard drains and 12" HDPE
will be installed in the right-of-way of the south side of
el Portal
o Remaining work: set final elevations for catch basin grates, grade swales, repairs to the edge of
road and open cuts (shell rock and asphalt), irrigation system repairs, form and pour flush
header curbs, form and pour new sidewalk on the south side of the road, milling paving,
striping, sod

• FDEP Vulnerability Assessment Grant/ Project
o Applied for an additional $50,000 of funding from FDEP from the Resilient Florida grant program
o This is to add to the existing$95,000 grant for filling gaps in the Village's data (primarily GIS)
o Will be submitting for grant reimbursement for about half of the project as soon as the last
check clears from Jones Edmunds

• Dover Ditch—Shared Project with Town of Jupiter
o Provided grant agreement initiation documentation to FDEP to draft agreement—still have not
heard anything back from FDEP, do not have a draft agreement yet
o CMA working on final design and permitting
o CORPS permit estimated to take 6-9 months, possibly up to a year
Water
• Brass Scrap Contract—a contract between the Town of Davie and SA Recycling was piggybacked to
surplus scrap brass and steel that had been sitting around the area for years. A little over five (5)
tons of scrap was removed to clean up the area. A check is on the way to the Village in the amount
of$19,060.72!! The material consisted of:
0 10,296 pounds of brass at$1.85/pound
0 164 pounds of steel at$0.08/pound

• Water Treatment Plant Projects -projects are in ongoing stages for the water treatment plant
o SCADA modifications—second contract for critical radio communication concerns issued
o Membrane replacement design for train#2—Dover Engineering—design specs complete for
train#2; considering combining both train#1 and#2 into one bid (with one as an add-alternate)
for installation in FY25 (can't take down more than one train at once); train#3 design planned
for FY24
o Unregulated contaminant monitoring rule (UCMR) sampling at wells have been conducted

• Water Main Projects
o WM#1 —Tequesta Dr. and Country Club Dr.
• Still anticipate full notice to proceed (NTP)to B&B Construction on January 8, 2024 (material
delays)
• Pre-construction submittals and Village permits complete
• Letters to residents to be sent in December in anticipation of January NTP
o WM#2 Beach Rd Phase 2
• Project will be funded by State Revolving Loan funds
• "Request for Inclusion" submittal to FDEP goes before the committee at the next meeting
scheduled for November
• Design complete with meter and bypass modifications by Kimley-Horn
• KH will update engineer's opinion of probable cost prior to bidding
• This will be the next project bid with a target bid date soon after the FDEP meeting
• Pride for the Village- Pumpkins
