AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CREATION OF SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENT DISTRICTS; PROVIDING FOR - SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR REPEAL -' OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT; PROVIDING the, FOR CODIFICATION; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Section 163.501 through 163 .523, Florida Statutes, established the Safe Neighborhoods Act, hereinafter referred to as the "Act"; and WHEREAS, Section 163 .504 of the Act provides that the governing body may adopt an Ordinance authorizing the formation of Safe Neighborhood Improvement Districts, in accordance with the provisions of the Act; and WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Tequesta has determined that the public interest will be best served by adopting an Ordinance authorizing the formation of local government improvement- districts in accordance with Section 163 .506, Florida Statutes. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Districts Authorized. Safe Neighborhood Improvement Districts, as provided in Sections 163 . 501 through 163 .522, Florida Statutes, may be established within the Village of Tequesta. Section 2. Method of Establishment. The method of establishing such Safe Neighborhood Improvement Districts in -- - the Village of Tequesta may be by one or more of the methods 7,7 established in Sections 163.506, 163.508, 163.511 and 163.512, r°, p s-i Florida Statutes, relating to Local Government Improvement s/ Districts. Section 3. Severability. If any provision of this Ordinance or the application thereof is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other provisions or applications of this Ordinance, which can be given effect without the invalid provisions or applications, and to this end, the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby declared severable. Section 4. Repeal of Ordinances in Conflict. All other Ordinances of the Village of Tequesta, Florida, or parts thereof which conflict with this or any other part of this Ordinance are hereby repealed. 0 Section 5. Codification. This Ordinance shall be codified and made a part of the official Code of Ordinances of the Village of Tequesta. Section 6. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage and approval, as provided by law. THE FOREGOING ORDINANCE WAS OFFERED BY Councilmember , who moved its adoption.
