MANAGERS GLa•v.✓ AT &'cci8,el'L , OFFICE /— Topics for Village of Tequesta' s / : REFERENDUM - JANUARY 15 , 1990 Provide and maintain original Tequesta Police Department administration and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue services which were available prior to June 1 , 1990. 1 OR Maintain original Police Department services which include Basic EMT ( Emergency Medical Treatment) and police 'work. Continue • contract with Palm Beach Fire Rescue for services including EMT and ALS (Advanced Life Support) . OR , • Delete the "Public Safety Concept`', as proposed by the Tequesta Village Administration and maintain the Fire Rescue service contract with Palm Beach County, along with the original Village Police service which were effective prior to .:June 1 . 1990. • OR Establish a Public Safety Department which provides combined fire and police services and includes the following: 1-hire a director at a cost of $70 , 000 minimum per year, 2-hire 4 additional personnel trained in fire fighting. and police work at a cost of $150 , 000 per year, ' 3-train existing police personnel for fire rescue services, with unknown cost, 4-purchase all needed fire rescue vehicles and equipment, 5-establish a fire station to house equipment and personnel , 6-delete present contract with P. B.-County but purchase separate contract to provide additional services and equipment when needed. This paper with suggestions for Referendum wording was received at the Village of Tequesta Administrative Offices on October /a , 1990, by r w -m -s.A - . • • Would you like to see: 1. Tequesta continue to utilize the two tier system currently in existence, except that the organizational structure would revert back to what was in existence on January 1 , 1990. By continuing the two-tier system, Tequesta would continue to contract with Palm Beach County Fire Rescue as our primary fire/paramedic providers. Tequesta Police Department continue to function as a law enforcement agency with cross training in Emergency Medical Services to enhance their first response capabilities. Department Head would be the Chief of Police. OR 2. • Tequesta create a Public Safety Department by purchasing the necessary firefighting apparatus and cross train the Police Officers to also provide the Village 's Fire protection Services. This would require the four Public Safety Officer 's on each shift cover both contingencies. • • • • V/ 9 0 tfo E Op S crl A ` /499ob • • • N. ' FE2 v n - s l ,,,t \-„( _., c?„,,, s ,„ ,...... -__-17-7 wi, gs :7ib Vo -n...-.-- r--13 &-- (3)Q c" ---' 0 .4`7 - V - c. \,1 Till , SoAPo' Qv2 2c<r ti , , : .. s/z o ,rrz- --P61.1cc' 4,46 —-Tex-6 co 6 euvoz1 , 1 ` i-r l3r 6.1{aocJ lyAvngiA1 0c1#2, l/l636,,J' . ,ccr- Aibeixioki 3 06 AI DA U t' 76 C'xJ iz2nc j 1-I e - /iv 14MiCrt-c[- CSC oc sc r&1jct 3 F 2d I '/-VE-c f ,.,., -301C4 coo,4n.i heze- - -ee5c()(----3€P1m--Hcv 77 AL UGi 7-267,4 b /N ePte el3i 0-7)itnc, 'Z6. 5) c__. q,./4 ,,it. 3(j7 ()KKK , ___(, 4.)004.
