Consider Taking Applications and Appointment of Unexpired Term of Seat 2 of the Environmental
Advisory Committee (EAC)
A vacancy has been created on the Environmental Advisory Committee with the appointment of
Mr.Thomas Bradford to the Village Council. Mr. Bradford's term expires May 8, 2025.
With a vacancy to a board, a position is advertised and the Village takes applications. The
applications are submitted to the Village Council to appoint an applicant to fill the remainder of the
term.
With Mr. Bradford serving temporarily on the Village Council and his desire to return to the EAC upon
completion of his term on Council, staff is seeking direction from Council for the vacant EAC seat.
Village Council can take the following action:
* Advertise the position and appoint someone to fill the remainder of the term
* Leave the seat vacant and when Mr. Bradford's term on Council expires reappoint him to the
EAC.
The EAC was created in 2019. There is no known past practice regarding a vacant board seat being
created by a temporary appointment to the Village Council.
Terms of the EAC board are staggered 3 year terms.
