SPECIAL VILLAGE COUNCIL
MEETING MINUTES
August 11, 1998
4:00 P.M.
L CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL
The Tequesta Village Council held a meeting at the Village Hall, 357 Tequesta. Drive,
Tequesta,Florida, on Tuesday, August 11, 1998. The meeting was called to order at 4:15
p.m. by Mayor Elizabeth A. Schauer. A roll call was taken by Joann Manganiello, Village
Clerk. Councilmembers present were: Mayor Elizabeth A. Schauer, Vice Mayor Carl C.
Hansen, Councilmember Joseph N. Capretta, and Counci member Ron T. Mackail. Also •
in attendance were: Village Manager Thomas G. Bradford, Attorney Scott G. Hawkins,
Village Clerk Joann Manganiello, and Court Reporter Jane Pastore.
IL APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Vice Mayor Hansa made a motion to approve the Agenda asteshbmit
Councilmember Mackail seconded the motion. The vote on the motion was:
Joseph N. Capretta - for
Carl C.Hansen - for
Ron T.Mackail - for
Elizabeth A. Schauer - for
The motion was therefore passed and adopted and the Agenda was approved as
submitted.
Ill. COMMUNICATIONS FROM CITIZENS
There was no communications from citizens.

IV. VILLAGE OF TEQUESTAV. CAMPBELL CLOSED-DOOR ATTORNEY/
CLIENT SESSION:
F.S. 286.011(8) allows the Village Council and the Village Manager to meet in a
Closed-Door Attorney/Client Session for the purpose of discussing settlement
negotiations or strategy sessions related to litigation.
Mayor Elizabeth A. Schauer announced:
a) The Attorney-Client Closed/Door Session
b) The estimated time is two hours
c) The names of the persons attending:
Mayor Elizabeth A. Schauer, Vice Mayor Carl C. Hansen, Councilmember
Alexander W. Cameron, Councilmember Joseph N. Capretta, Councilmember Ron
T. Mackail, Village Manager Thomas G. Bradford, Attorney Scott G. Hawkins,
and Court Reporter Jane Pastore,Ley and Marsaa Court Reporters.
d) Members of the public in attendance were asked to vacate the Village Hall Council
Chambers at 4:17 p.m.
V. RECONVENE SPECIAL VILLAGE COUNCIL MEETING
a). Call to Order
The Special Village Council Meeting reconvened in the Village Council Chambers
and was called to order at 5:19 p.m. by Mayor Elizabeth A. Schauer. A roll call
was taken by Joann Manganiello, Village Clerk, Councilmembers present were:
Mayor Elizabeth A. Schauer, Vice Mayor Carl C. Hansen, Councilmember Joseph
N. Capretta, and Councilmember Ron T. Mackail. Also reconvening were:
Village Manager Thomas G. Bradford, Attorney Scott G. Hawkins, Village
Clerk Joann Manganiello, and Court Reporter Jane Pastore.
b) Announcement of Termination of the Attorney/Client Session
Mayor Elizabeth A. Schauer announced the termination of the Attorney/Client
Session.

VL ANY OTHER MATTERS
Councilmember Mackail congratulated Attorney Hawkins for his excellent work in
the Jupiter Water Rate Case. The Fourth District Court of Appeals ruled in
Tequesta's favor upholding Judge Carlisle's ruling.
Vice Mayor Hansen complimented Village Manager Bradford on his excellent
article in the July issue of Smoke Signals regarding Tequesta's historical concern
over salt water intrusion.
VH. ADJOURNMENT
Councilmember Mackailmoved that the meeting be adjournMice Mayor
Hansen seconded the motion. The vote on the motion was:

Ron T.Mackail - for
Elizabeth A. Schauer - for
The motion was therefore passed and adopted and the meeting was adjourned at
4:23 p.m.
