These flow meters must be compatible with equipment to be installed in the new treatment plant. Our consulting engineer for the project,Bill Reese,has recommended we purchase meters manufactured by Foxboro, which is the same brand as will be installed in the new treatment plant Items required are: 2 Foxboro Four inch flow tubes 4 Foxboro Six inch flow tubes 6 Foxboro Magnetic flow transmitters Quotes have been obtained from the manufacturer directly, as well as the Florida distributor. They are: Solares Florida Corporation $20,854.80 • Foxboro Company $23,562.00 We are seeking authorization to purchase the above flow tubes and transmitters from the Solares Florida Corporation of Lakeland Florida,in the amount of$20,854.80. Funding will be provided by the Water Enterprise Fund,Bond Construction Account. Please place this important item on the Village Council Agenda of July 23, 1998 for approval so that we may move forward with the purchase,and timely installation to coincide with construction. These will replace the existing pilot tubes. The new plant will have several mag meters which will be manufactured by Foxboro. We strongly recommend, for reasons of familiarity of staff; commonality of parts, etc.that the meters for the filters also be Foxboro. I believe we have previously provided part numbers.
