Subject: Chemical Purchase - Anhydrous Ammonia
On November 20, 1997, the City of Boynton Beach Utilities
Department opened sealed bids that were submitted for the
purchase of Anhydrous Ammonia. Acting as lead agency for the
Palm Beach County Co-op, the City of Boynton Beach prepared the
attached recommendation and bid tabulation sheets.
Based on the proposals that were submitted, the Village of
Tequesta Water Department is recommending the award be made to
Tanner Industries of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
In light of the above, we are seeking to obtain Village Council •
approval for the purchase of Anhydrous Ammonia from Tanner
Industries, Inc. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the quantity of
7, 500 pounds at $0 . 184 per pound for an annual purchase of
$1,380. Funding will be provided by the Water Enterprise Fund,
Pumping and Storage Division, Chemicals Line Item, having an FY
98 budget balance of $33, 075 .55 .
Renewal of this bid with Tanner Industries, will allow us to
have uninterrupted supply through December 1998 .
Please place this item on the Village Council Consent Agenda for
their meeting of December 11, 1997.
