Subject: Public Works Committee Meeting April 21, 1998; Agenda Item
On January 8, 1998, the Village Council awarded the Country Club
Drive Landscape Design to Parker-Yannette Design Group, Inc. Since
that date, Mr. Steve Parker and I have been meeting with the
Tequesta Country Club Community Association, Tequesta Country Club
Pointe Property Owners Association and the Tree Board, to prepare an
acceptable landscape plan to present to the Public Works Committee.
On April 8,. the Tequesta Country Club Community Association and the
Tequesta Country Club Pointe Property. Owners Association held a
joint meeting and accepted the plan as presented with the attached
comments. On April 15, the Tree Board unanimously accepted the plan
and comments received from the April 8 meeting.
Please find attached, the following support documents for Public
Works Committee review.

The organizations that have reviewed the preliminary design and cost
estimates have requested that all funds remaining from the FY 98
budget for the design phase be carried over to the FY 99 budget for
planting. This amount should be approximately $18, 000 .
Please place this item on the April 21, 1998, .Public Works Committee
Meeting Agenda.

The Village Council of the_ Village of Tequesta has approved the placement of landscape .
improvements for Country Club Drive in the Tequesta Five-Year Capital Improvement Program.
The Five-Year Capital Improvement Program is subject to change. A snapshot of this financial
plan is as follows:

• $25,000 has been allocated this current fiscal year to prepare a design plan for the
landscaping of Country Club Drive.
• Landscape Architect selection is expected to be finalized in January 1998.
• The purpose of the landscape plan will be to enhance the appearance of this important
entryway into the Village and to provide a plan that will provide a buffer for the houses
• abutting Country Club Drive with a long term goal of providing traffic calming benefits •
from the growth of the foliage intended to be planted.
• In order to gain Country Club Community valuable input prior to the completion of the
final design, it is envisioned that the contract to be let by the Village will require the
landscape architect and the Director of Public Works to attend the following meetings:
• Pre Preliminary Design
• Tequesta Country Club Community Association
• Tequesta Country Club Pointe Property Owners Association
• Community Appearance Board
• Preliminary Design
