Bradford, Village Manager DATE: July 15, 1993 SUBJECT: Lighthouse Gallery 30th Annual Art and Crafts Festival; , Request to Use Private Property; Agenda Item Attached hereto, please find correspondence of June 15th, relati.ve to the proposed 30th Annual Art and Crafts Festival on Sunday, November 21, 1993 . The event typically last from 10 :00 A.M. to 5 : 00 P.M. The Lighthouse Gallery is requesting the following: o Closure of Tequesta Drive from Venus Avenue to Seabrook Road. o Use of Gallery Square North Parking Lot for exhibitors and activities . o Display banners on Tequesta Drive to advertise the Sunday Festival. It is recommended that the Village Council approve this request condition upon the following: o Prior to the event, provide the Village a Certificate of Liability Insurance in the amount of One Million Dollars naming the Village of Tequesta as an additionally insured. o Lighthouse Gallery be responsible for clean-up. o Provision of a minimum of two (2) off-duty• Tequesta Police Officers for proper traffic control. o Provision of necessary barricades and traffic control signs for the event. Schrecengost, Fire Chief Weinand 'and myself have met to review this years ' Festival and its impact on the Tequesta Fire Rescue Department. Provisions have been made to ensure public safety and safe passage of fire-rescue vehicles, if needed. It is recommended that the Village Council approve the request subject to the above conditions . Bradford, ManagertICE ' Village of Tequesta 357 Tequesta Drive Tequesta, Florida 33469-0273 Dear Mr. Bradford: On behalf of the Lighthouse Gallery Board of Directors and the Committee for the 30th Annual Art and Crafts Festival to be held on Sunday, November 21, 1993, I would like to make the following requests regarding this event: 1 . Barricade Tequesta Drive from Venus Avenue west to Seabrook Road. 2. Use of Gallery Square North Parking area for exhibitors and other activities. 3.. Display banners on Tequesta Drive to advertize the Sunday Festival. We will also provide a Certificate of Liability Insurance in the amount of one million dollars naming the Village of Tequesta as an additionally insured. We also agree to use the services of two off-duty Tequesta Police Officers for traffic control and be responsible for clean-up. This is an important activity for the Gallery and the community. We appreciate the Village' s continuous support and we plan to make the 30th Anniversary Festival the most significant and successful event ever sponsored by the Lighthouse Gallery.
