IV. NEW BUSINESS
1) Review Fiscal Year 1994 Budget Process: Gary Preston
explained the budget process to the Board, stating that
within two weeks it would again be necessary for the
Board to meet to determine the Board's budget. A
tentative date of May 12 was set for the next Tree Board
Meeting. Presented at this meeting will be cost
estimates for the Tequesta Drive tree project.
V. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
1) Status Report on Tequesta Drive Tree Project (Tree Board
Member, Steve Parker)
Steve Parker explained he would take a streetscape of Tequesta
Drive to determine the 1) species; 2) size; and 3) how many
trees will be needed for the project, and from there do a cost
estimate. Suggestions for species were: Oaks, Pigeon Plum,
groupings of shorter Queen Palms to provide a good canopy.
Gary Preston explained that there presently exists Live Oaks
between the Royal Palms from Fiesta to U.S. Highway One. The
above-referenced project would entail plantings from Fiesta
all the way down Tequesta Drive in the opposite direction.
It was Steve Parker's suggestion that the species be mixed.
He explained further that Laurel Oaks, though faster growing
than Live Oaks, have a life expectancy of approximately 80-
100 years, whereas Live Oaks have a life expectancy of over
200 years.
