During this reporting period, there were 266 recorded phone
calls to the Village Manager's Office and 169 citizen
inquiries at the lobby counter.
O Attended a Meeting with Representatives of Wackenhut Services,
Inc. Regarding Fire-Rescue Services.
O Attended a Chamber of Commerce Meeting at 7:45 A.M. to Review
the Presentation of the Business Development Board Regarding
Economic Strategy.
O Attended a Meeting with the Town of Jupiter Officials to
Discuss Water Service.
O Attended a Meeting at Village Hall to Represent the Village
Regarding the Cypress Drive Drainage Improvement Project.
O Conducted a Fire-Rescue Staff Meeting.
O Attended a Council of Government Luncheon.
O Attended a Village Council Meeting on September 24.
O Attended a Meeting at the Town of Jupiter to Discuss the Dover
Ditch Drainage Improvement Project.
O Attended the Fire-Rescue Task Force Meeting.
O Conducted a Staff Meeting Wherein the Following Items were
Discussed:
a) Extended congratulations to Scott Ladd on his achievement in
acquiring a 5% reduction in flood insurance premiums for
Tequesta residents through the community rating system of
the National Flood Insurance Program.
b.) The Chief of Police was requested to review allegations of
excessive speeding on U.S. HIghway One.
c) An inquiry was made of the Finance Director as to the
acquisition of a CAFR Program, Mr. Kascavelis advised that
program purchase was not necessary and that program
modifications to the mainframe would accomodate the same
results.

d) The Chief of Police was requested to include a sign-off
sheet relative to the Right-to-Know Law for all new
employees.
e) Reviewed the provisions of the Clean Air Act with all
employees and requested Mrs. Manganiello to acquire NO
SMOKING signs for all entrance ways into Village Hall and
the annex facilities.
f) The Water System Manager was requested to provide an update
relative to the conducting of a meeting with the residents
of Turtle Creek regarding well projects.
g) The Director of Finance was requested to contact Arthur J.
Gallagher & Company in conjunction with Mr. Michael Simmons
• of the Town of Jupiter to determine the feasibility of a
self insurance program for the Village and Jupiter.
h) Mr. Ladd was requested to provide a Village response
relative to the proposed Jupiter Comprehensive Plan
Amendment.
i) Mr. Ladd was requested to secure a model ordinance mandating
recycling facilities in all new multi-family structures at
the earliest possible date.
j ) The Building Official informed the Village Manager that he
would be involved with the building inspection of Jupiter
High School scheduled for September 30.
k) A discussion was held regarding the designation of surplus
property.
1 ) Mr. Ladd was requested to follow up with Traffic
Engineering, Inc. regarding progress on the Tequesta
Comprehensive Traffic Study.
m) Mr. Hall informed staff that the Well 24 contractor would
cut County Line Road on October 5 or October 6 and was
advised to inform the Jupiter Courier of the same.
n) Mr. Hall informed staff of the need to notify the public of
the water system chlorination progress upcoming in the next
newsletter.
o) Mr. Preston reviewed the status of the Tequesta entrance
signs.
p) Mr. Preston presented updated drawings for the Country Club
Pedestrian Crossing Project.

q) Mr. Preston presented the logo for the cover sheet of his
Tree City, USA Comprehensive Tree Plan.
r) Mr. Preston made inquiries regarding Tequesta's
participation in the proposed 1993 TequestaFest and funding
for the same.
O Attended a Downtown Task Force Meeting.
O Letter to Jack Horniman, Executive Director of the Palm Beach
County Municipal League Enclosing Tequesta's Contribution Check
for the Hurricane Andrew Fund.
O Letter to John LeRoux, Esq. , Jones, Foster, Johnston & Stubbs,
Regarding FP&L Easement; Tequesta Water Plant Property.
O Letter to Janet Gettig, Martin County Commissioner, Regarding
Issues of Concern Between Tequesta and Martin County; Tequesta
Park and the Connector Road.
O Letter to Linda Schuette, EMS Specialist, Palm Beach County
Emergency Medical Services, Regarding ALS Licensing; Notice of
ALS Intent.
O Memorandum to the Downtown Task Force Members Enclosing Copy of
Village Council Workshop Meeting Minutes of September 16, 1992.
O Memorandum to Bill C. Kascavelis, Finance Director, Regarding
Preparation of Guidelines for the Establishment of an
appropriate Undesignated Fund Balance Within the General Fund.
