SUBJECT: Adoption of the 1991 Standard Building, Gas,
Mechanical, and Plumbing Codes and the Building
Code Advisory Board Recommended Countywide
Amendments to each of these Codes.
Tom, it is time, once again, to update our minimum construction
codes pursuant to Chapter 90-445, Laws of Florida, as amended.
The Palm Beach County Building Code Advisory Board has
recommended the adoption of the 1991 Standard Building, Gas,
Mechanical, and Plumbing Codes and the Countywide Amendments
thereto, and the Model Countywide Administrative Code, 1991
Edition for the Building, Electrical, Gas, Mechanical, and
Plumbing Codes.
Attached is a copy of a letter from Dominic Sims, Assistant
Deputy Director, Palm Beach County Building Dept. and the
original of the proposed adoption ordinance.
Please place this matter on the agenda for the August 13, 1992
Council meeting. Copies of the proposed codes to be .adopted
and the • Countywide Amendments are available for public
inspection and review at the Department of Community
Development. Thank you.

Dear Mr. Ladd:
Upon the recommendation of the Building Code Advisory Board, the Board of County
Commissioners, at their meeting of May 19, 1992, adopted the most recent model construction
codes as the minimum standards for the incorporated and unincorporated areas of Palm Beach
County.
The following is a list of these standards and their applicability:

AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA,
AMENDING SECTIONS 6-21, 6-22, 6-61, 6-62, 6-101, 6-102,
6-121 AND 6'122 OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF ORDINANCES, TO
PROVIDE FOR THE ADOPTION OF THE STANDARD BUILDING CODE, ,
1991 EDITION, THE UNIFORM, MINIMUM COUNTYWIDE AMENDMENT

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
TEQUESTA, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 6-21 of the Code of Ordinances of
the Village of Tequesta is hereby amended by adopting and
incorporating into the Code the Standard Building Code, 1991
Edition as fully as if set forth at length herein as the
Building Code of the Village of Tequesta.
Section 2. Section 6-22 of the 'Code of Ordinances of
the Village of Tequesta is hereby amended by adopting and
incorporating into the Code the Uniform, Minimum Countywide
Amendment to the Standard Building Code, 1991 Edition, The
Uniform, Minimum Countywide Administrative Code, 1991 Edition
as fully as if set forth at length herein.
Sect i_o_n 3. Section 6-61 of the Code of Ordinances of
the . Village of Tequesta is hereby amended by- adopting and
incorporating into' the Code the Standard Gas Code, 1991 Edition
as fully as if set forth at length herein as the Gas Code of
the Village of Tequesta.
Section 4, Section 6-62 of the. Code of Ordinances of
the Village of Tequesta is hereby amended by adopting and
incorporating into the Code the Uniform, Minimum Countywide
Amendment to the Standard Gas Code, 1991 Edition as fully as if
set forth at length herein.

Section 5. Section 6-101 of the Code of Ordinances
of the Village of Tegeusta is hereby amended by adopting and
incorporating into the Code the Standard Mechanical Code, 1991
Edition as fully as if set forth at length herein as the
Mechanical Code of the Village of Tequesta.
Section6. Section 6-102 of the Code of Ordinances
of the Village of Tequesta is hereby amended by adopting and
incorporating into the Code the Uniform. Minimum Countywide
Amendment to the Standard Mechanical Code, 1991 Edition, as
fully as if set forth at length herein.
Section 7. Section 6-121 of the Code of Ordinances
of the Village of Tequesta is hereby amended by adopting and
incorporating into the Code the Standard Plumbing Code, 1991
Edition, as fully as if set forth at length herein as the ,
• Plumbing Code of the Village of Tequesta.
Section 8. Section 6-122 of the Code of Ordinances
of the Village of Tequesta is hereby amended by adopting and
incorporating into the Code the Uniform, Minimum Countywide
Amendment to the Standard Plumbing Code, 1991 Edition, as fully
-s set forth at length herein.
Section 9. It is hereby declared to be the intention
•f the Village of Tequesta that the sections, paragraphs,
-entences, clauses and phrases of this Ordinance are severable,
•nd if any phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph or section of
his Ordinance shall be declared unconstitutional or otherwise
invalid by the valid Judgement or decree of a court of
ompetent Jurisdiction, such unconstitutionality or invalidity
shall not affect any of the remaining phrases, clauses,
•-entences, paragraphs and sections of this Ordinance.
Section_1Q. Permission to codify this Ordinance is
hereby granted.
Section 11. This Ordinance shall take effect
immediately upon its passage and approval.
