An Application from Dan May, Perrin Signs to change the faces in the existing free-standing sign, three wall signs and the front entrance awning at Palm Beach Cafe (formerly Perkins) , 716 U.S. . Highway One, North. Dan May, Ferrin Signs, was in attendance, and explained that the yellow awnings will be changed to deep marine blue and the existing Perkins signs changed to read Palm Beach Cafe. Scott Ladd explained that the new signs met all the Sign Code requirements but brought to the attention of the Board the proposed neon palm trees, explaining that the Village allows no exposed neon. The Board felt that deep marine blue awnings would not only clash with the existing green tile trim on the building but also that it might not stand out well and could fade more quickly than a lighter shade of blue. Their suggestion was that a lighter shade of turquoise blue be used. Dan May explained that the blue proposed for the sign will be the blue which is used for the awnings. The blue on the sign graduated from a deep marine blue to a light turquoise blue, with the inside color being 50% of the outside color, and the middle portion being 30% of the outside color. Mr. May felt that any color awning was available to the new owners. Boardmember ,Pallatto moved to approve the application with the color of the awnings being the lightest blue of . the sign colors, and the elimination of the outside neon palm trees. Boardmember Strahan seconded the motion. The vote on the motion was: Leslie Cook - for Ruth Maitland - for Paul Coben - for Peter Pallatto - for Victor Strahan - for Claudette Dalack - for the motion was therefore passed and adopted.
