Bradford, Village Manager DATE: May 14, 1992 SUBJECT: Anti-Drug Abuse Act Grant Funds; Authorization for Mayor to Issue Letter Approving Distribution to Palm Beach County; Agenda Item Attached hereto, please find a copy of a letter addressed to Mayor Collings requesting his signature on a letter authorizing grant funds to Palm Beach County in the amount of $699, 469 for the Anti Drug Abuse funds. Chief Roderick informs me that if the Village were to seek these funds. for its own use, that Tequesta would be - allocated less than $100. Therefore, from a practical point of view, it makes sense to allow our distribution to be utilized by Palm Beach County for the funding of their Multi-Agency Narcotics (MAN) Unit. The Village Charter requires the Mayor to have the approval of Village Council when signing documents on behalf of the Village. It is recommended that the Village Council authorize the issuance of this letter to be signed by the Mayor, approving the distribution of all of the applicable Anti-Drug Abuse Act grant funds to Palm Beach County.
