SUBJECT: Resolution No. 6-91/92 - Establishing Procedures,
Designating Election Officials and Polling Locations
for the Municipal Election to be held March 10, 1992
in Conjunction with the County Presidential
Preference Primary Election; Agenda Item
Attached hereto, please find a copy of the above referenced
Resolution. The Resolution establishes procedures, designates
officials and polling locations for the Municipal Election to be
held on March 10, 1992, in conjunction with the County
Presidential Preference Primary Election in accordance with the
provisions of Sections 8-1 and 8-2 of the Village of Tequesta
Code of Ordinances.
For your information, the filing period for the March 10, 1992,
Municipal Election is from noon Tuesday, January 28 to noon
Tuesday, February 11,J1992.
Please place this Resolution on the January 16, 1992, Village
Council Meeting Agenda for consideration by Council.

RESOLUTION NO. 6-91/92
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF
THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH
COUNTY, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING PROCEDURES,
DESIGNATING ELECTION OFFICIALS AND
POLLING LOCATIONS FOR THE MUNICIPAL
ELECTION TO BE HELD MARCH 10, 1992, IN
CONJUNCTION WITH THE COUNTY PRESIDENTIAL
PREFERENCE PRIMARY ELECTION.
WHEREAS, the Village Council adopted the uniform filing
and election dates as adopted previously by the Legislature
of the State of Florida (House Bill 742), designating the
second Tuesday in March as the uniform election date for any
election relating to a municipal office; and designating a
filing period for candidates for any municipal office in Palm
Beach County from noon on the last Tuesday in January through
and not later than noon on the second Tuesday in February of
the calendar year; and -
WHEREAS, Section 2.01 of the Village Charter provides
that Councilmembers shall be elected at large to Seats 1, 3
and 5 in the even years; and
WHEREAS, Section 8, of the Village Code of Ordinances
provides that Council may designate by Resolution: election
officials, election procedures, polling locations, and other
incidentals required to conduct the Village Municipal
Election; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Tequesta,
desires to establish election procedures, designate election
officials and polling locations required to conduct the
Municipal Election to be held on March 10, 1992.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF
THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Notice is hereby given that a Municipal
Election will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 1992. The
polling location for Precinct 2 voters will be the Village
Hall, 357 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, Florida, and the polling
location for Precinct 14 voters will be the First Baptist
Church Hall, 423 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, Florida. The
polls will be open from 7:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. election day.
Section 2. In accordance with the provisions of Section
8-2(b) Village of Tequesta Code of Ordinances, the Village
Clerk shall be the Clerk of Elections and shall supervise the
conduct of the Municipal Election, in accordance with the
State of Florida Election Laws and Village Ordinances. The
Village Clerk shall also provide for the publication of all
legal notices required for the election in coordination with
the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Office.
Section 3. Jackie Winchester, Palm Beach County
Supervisor of Elections, and Joann Manganiello, Village of
Tequesta Village Clerk, are appointed members of the Village
of Tequesta Canvassing Board for the purpose of conducting
' the Municipal Election.
Section 4. The Palm Beach County Supervisor of
• Elections shall designate the Inspectors of Election.
Section 5. The Palm Beach County Supervisor of
Elections is designated to tabulate the ballots cast at the
Village Municipal Election.

Section 6. The provisions of the Florida Elections Code
relating to absentee ballots shall apply to the Village
Municipal Election, and absentee balloting shall be
administered by the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections
Office.
Section 7. After the March 10, 1992 Municipal Election,
the Tequesta Village Council shall meet at the next regular
scheduled Council Meeting and shall canvass the returns of
the Municipal Election as shown by the certificates of the
results of the election. The Village Clerk shall also
certify the results of the election to the Village Council,
and provide each candidate elected with a certificate of
their election.
Section 8. The Village Clerk, or her appointed
designee, shall provide a copy of this Resolution to the Palm
Beach County Supervisor of Elections.
Section 9. This Resolution shall take effect
immediately upon its passage.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION was offered by
Councilmember , who moved its adoption.
The motion was seconded by Councilmember
and upon being put to a vote, the vote was as follows:
For Adoption Against Adoption
The Mayor thereupon declared the Resolution duly passed
and adopted this day of 1991.
