ERNEST A, KUONEN 357 TEQUESTA DRIVE 134 BUTTONWOOD CIRCLE TEQUESTA, FL. 33469-0273 AUGUST 14, 1991 RE: LOXAHATCHEE RIVER DISTRICT (ENCON) STORMWATER UTILITY MANAGEMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE DEAR COUNCIL MEMBERS; I WISH TO THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING MY REQUEST FOR A SEAT ON THE ABOVE REFERENCED COMMITTEE. I HAVE BEEN A RESIDENT OF PALM BEACH COUNTY FOR 42 YEARS AND HAVE RESIDED IN THE JUPITER/TEQUESTA AREA SINCE 1972, THE LAST 5 YEARS IN TEQUESTA PINES. I AM A PH.D. MECHANICAL ENGINEER AND OWN A CONSULTING ENGINEERING FIRM. I HAD BEEN AN ACTIVE REAL ESTATE DEVELOPER AND RESIDENTIAL HOME BUILDER IN THIS COUNTY FOR OVER 20 YEARS. CONSEQUENTLY, I HAVE SOME TECHNICAL EXPERTISE THAT MAY PROVE WORTHWHILE TO THE COMMITTEE, AND MAY ALLOW ME TO EXERCISE A FAIR LEVEL OF JUDGEMENT TOWARD THE STORMWATER ISSUES THAT WILL ARISE. ANY UNUSUAL COMMITTEE MEETING HOURS ARE ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM FOR ME. I AM 48 YEARS OLD, HAVE BEEN MARRIED FOR 21 YEARS, HAVE SIRED 2 CHILDREN THAT ATTEND BOTH JUPITER MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOLS AND AM A MEMBER OF ST. JUDES AND ST. PETERS PARISHES. WHY DO I WANT TO SERVE ON THIS COMMITTEE ? THERE ARE TWO REASONS. FIRST, AS I HAVE GROWN RIPER WITH AGE, I HAVE NOTICED A GROWING URGE TO RETURN SOME OF MY GOOD FORTUNES TO MY FELLOW TRAVELERS. I WANT TO BECOME MORE INVOLVED IN LOCAL ISSUES AND I NOW HAVE MORE TIME TO CONTRIBUTE. SECONDLY, THIS IS A GOOD CHANCE FOR ME TO USE MY TECHNICAL BACKGROUND TO DIRECTLY BENEFIT MY COMMUNITY. PLEASE GIVE ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO HELP. THANK YOU FOR YOUR KINDNESS AND CONSIDERATION.
