Survey Area/Focus Takeaways from Natural Resources Survey
, ..
Extensive seagrass beds within survey area -5 species found
• 3 of the 4 mangrove islands have experienced substantial erosion
and may risk total loss without intervention
^' ` • Very high energy environment(boat wakes, wind-generated waves,
tidal currents)likely cause of mangrove habitat deterioration
• Implementing wave attenuating structures could benefit mangrove
and seagrass communities by reducing erosional forces and
stabilizing sediments
ram:::. . ' • Opportunities exist for a habitat stabilization/restoration project
